Otomon we are talking about commercial games. It's obvious. This is the Video & Computer Games forums. There is a separate "indie" gamemaking forum or whatever...so no. Stop.

Sorry!
I was never able to get into Threads of Fate. I don't really know why though, and I seriously couldn't even play it for very long. I remember almost nothing about it except that it left a bad taste in my mouth. Someone explain me what was good about it so maybe I'll give it another try. Legend of Legaia was pretty fun though I never got that far in it either, but back when I first played it I didn't even own it and then I just kinda forgot about the whole game. I have Legaia 2 for PS2 but I can't really say if it's good or bad because I have played it for like 10 minutes, tops.

Legend of Dragoon is great though. I'm aware it's really traditional and the story seems like some homage to shallow RPG stories with lots of twists and cliches and it's kinda slow and the translation is pretty horrible but for one reason or another I still enjoyed it a lot.
Iirc Threads of Fate was just a really quirky game. Not like GROUNDBREAKING or anything, but it had an interesting cast of characters and the story was rather interesting. But yeah, you should try it out anyway.

And yeah, Legend of Dragoon is just great. I'm definitely going to play it again some day. I was shocked when I first got it, from the four discs.

Metal Arms on the Cube. Fun wee third person shooter/platformer. Simple and to the point, it didn't try to reinvent gaming as we knew it, just just set out to be a fun game and it was. The multiplayer was great too, but let down by a shitty frame rate and beind splitscreen.

bomberman 64 (the video isn't too great but has lots of FOOTAGE)

i used to be a HUGE bomberman fan and i remember i was looking forward to this game before it was out. when it came out it was actually good however many people did not think this. what's really amazing to me is how much STUFF there was to do in the game. every level you play you maybe only see something like 50% of it, but to get all the GOLD CARDS you need to look around and do puzzles. the gold card thing isn't stupid either, because getting them all unlocks an entire new level (there are 5 normal levels, and the hidden one). if you do everything the game is probably 25 hours long. in addition to the single player being good the multiplayer was also pretty good as you would expect from a bomberman game. from what i know bomberman is basically some retarded anime bullshit game now, this was probably the last GOOD bomberman game.

the game isn't the greatest thing ever, but it's a lot better than people gave it credit for.

I agree with this. The n64 bomberman games were great. Bomberman Hero wasn't as good as 64 and the second one, but it was a decent platformer.

Dude, fuck yes. Bomberman 64 was one of my favorite N64 games. I don't know why it got such average reviews and why people didn't like it very much. The level design was really nice and I loved the multiplayer, we used to play it a lot back in the day.

I liked Super Adventure Island II for the SNES, it had the Legend of Zelda II feel or it. But way shorter then LoZII but great gameplay, one of the better Super Adventure Island games Hudson Soft made!

And another one I enjoyed was Joe and Mac 1 and 2 for the SNES, those two games never get old!

Baroque is really a like-it-or-hate-it game, but then again so are most roguelikes. The game is very simplistic but endearingly so.

Illbreed sounds pretty cool. :)

Those of you who liked Raptor & other upgradable shoot-em-ups might also like Jets N' Guns, a shareware game that I'm not sure qualifies as little known. But it's free for the next few hours at game.giveawayoftheday.com (You need to install it today). It's a 10/10 for that type of game imo.

Joachim was gay?  I'd say he was maybe flamboyant or eccentric but whatever.  Guess it takes one to know one.
Games that no one really played but should have:
1.  Gungrave:  Gamplay and graphics weren't its' strong points but the game makes up for all that in atmosphere and story.  The cut scenes are brilliant.  Plus the music was done by Tsueno Imahori(Trigun).

2.  Megaman X Command Mission:  Beautifully cell shaded graphics.  Catchy Megaman tunes.  Solid turn based combat with a touch of real time.  Even the story was decent.

3.  Guilty Gear XX2:  Best 2d fighter since Street Fighter.  The heavy metal motif suits the game.  Amazing soundtrack.  Fantastic roster of characters.  Convoluted storyline that may or may not make sense to you.  The dialogue between the characters are really entertaining.

Why did you need to get offensive? For the case of Joachim,

Also, Guilty Gear XX2 is pretty popular.

Ah, little known games. For this, I turn to the good ol' Dreamcast. One of my favourite games in my whole collection, perhaps for being the first adult themed sandbox game I knew of, was Omikron. David Bowie music, adult theme, strip clubs, apartments, detective work... set in the Future. It was so awesome. The problem with this game was the learning curve and saving system.
Learning curve: You had basically no tutorial whatsoever, and you had to solve a crime in this futuristic city with flying cars and robots. There was a combat simulator to use, which is a good idea to do so. Because when you do solve the problem and find yourself combatting a demon... well... you could end up dead. Luckily, you're not really the cop. You're just a Dreamcast player, so you can go off and possess another civilian. Each character you take the role of has their own life, which is plain cool.

It's sad there's so few gameplay videos. It's not a fighting game, if that's what these imply, instead, it's this open sandbox detective game. Kind of like a mixpot of Shenmue, Grand Theft Auto, Virtua Fighter, and David Bowie. One of my favourite scenes as the cop character was taking down terrorists in a grocery store (or some type of store). It was a great gun fight.

That looks actually very cool. I might get it sometime.

Also, the term you wanna use is open-ended, not sandbox. ;)

I had Omikron too, and yeah, it was a nice game. I didn't get too far in it because we sold our Dreamcast around when I played it. :(

I remember Omikron. I followed it for about a year before it was released, and then I did not actually play it for another... I don't know five or six years, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing at all in the game.

I really liked Shogo, an anime FPS with mechs. You got to fight both in the mech and as a soldier, which was pretty fun. It was kind of goofy and pretty easy, but there was a host of cool guns and the gameplay flowed well. There were two separate endings too, depending on which side you chose to support, which meant you got to visit different levels so it had some replay value there.

The best part was the guns as a mech though, they were awesome. There was this fully automatic megalaser thing that just blew anything up, as well as one gun that shot gigantic mines. You also had a laser sword and got to choose between different mechs for each mission.

awesome game

- daily dinosaur is awesome!

There is lots of fun to be had here!

DUDE. Yes. Bomberman 64 was awesome. I wasted so many hours on that game. I saw they had a new Bomberman for the Wii, and it looked like it was gonna be Bomberman 64 but with mini-games thrown in as an option. It turns out it was the worst purchase I have ever made. Terrible, terrible game. Candidate for the worst game ever, actually.

TWO WORDS AND ONE NUMERAL:

Shadow Hearts 2.
Completely agree with above.

Basically, anyone who hasn't played Shadow Hearts 2, is missing out on the best RPG on any Playstation console, and arguably one of the best RPGs of all time.

I mean, come on, it has a Homosexual Vampire Wrestler as a character. How cool is that?

That wouldn't be an account you made, DN, would it?

I would say Gun is one of the best western themed PC games I've ever played, I rarely see any talk of it, and most people I know haven't even heard of it.

I remember GUN. It was a launch title for 360 and Wii, I think. I haven't played it though, but I really liked Outlaws, Red Dead Revolver. If Gun is as good as those maybe I'll give it a shot (with my six shooter pew pew).
