I still don't see how Mr. Freeze (and his name of all things) is fundamentally different from any other villain so far.

It's really all about presentation.

I think the main difference is that Mr. Freeze uses a freeze gun to encase things in ice.  It's pretty much his thing.  If you have a Mr. Freeze without a freeze gun, you just have a guy who's cold, and that's not really all that threatening!  Really a freeze ray is a lot less believable than what they've done in the movies so far.  Just look at the previous Batman film series; it went to crap when they started doing crazy stuff.

w/e you dudes act like it is impossible to reimagine mr freeze WITHOUT A RAY GUN and all that other silly shit and it's not at all.  firstly two-face//the joker//scarecrow are not inherently less ridiculous than mr freeze and without the ice gun/weird suit you still have a compelling and sympathetic villain.  he's a good character, if you ignore the silly shit, and he can definitely BE DONE without all that.

Yeah honestly just give him a tank of liquid nitrogen or whatever and attach a hose and it would look more or less realistic!

I want them to bring back Cat Woman ,though. She's my favorite character of the Batman series.

As for the Riddler, he could be like Jigsaw from Saw. You know, a serial killers who always leave riddle for Batman to solve and try to save the victim, giving Batman false hope and all that. Mr. Freeze would do fine with a tank of liquid nitrogen like many has pointed out, IMO.  What's difficult would be bringing Poison Ivy back or making her realistic...all I can think of is she wouldn't be able to control all those big giant plants anymore but maybe she use poison from the plants or pheromone or whatever to charm people and make them become her subordinates. Still, I don't think she'd make it as a main villain.

Feel sorry for Man-bat though, he wouldn't get a chance to be in this new realistic Batman at all.

There is no possible way a sequel would be as good as this one. No way. I knowit's been said many times but seriously theres no point trying.

I see Mr. Freeze as some cold-blooded (pun intended) serial killer who enjoys watching his victims freeze to death.  What are your guy's choices of actors for the villains you are giving?

if they make another one i really do hope they pick a good villain.

joker and twoface didn't have powers or anything, just complexes
scarecrow had hallucinogens, which are very much a real thing
raz al ghul was a ninja or something (didn't realize it was him until the end of the movie)

riddler would be a dumb choice: joker was pulling strings the whole movie, i really don't see how setting traps calmly and collected would be much different than setting traps and laughing crazily
everybody else is pretty ridiculous: croc, clayface, ivy, & manbat would be my picks, but they really wouldn't fit with nolan's universe of reality. the penguin pretty much just sucks.
i'd like to see mr. freeze, but again he is very otherworldly. i mean even without the ice ray gun, he's a dude that is frozen alive or what?

honestly it would make a lot of sense to use catwoman, considering that in the dark knight . i don't really like catwoman but she is a pretty important part of batman, and probably the most well known villain outside of joker.

do i????  idk CALM COOL COLLECTED CLEVER but he never struck me as being particularly interesting or even very well motivated.  he's just a cheeseball villain.  riddles!!!  sweet man let's just have a guy who likes riddles.  i don't know the story behind people like bane or the penguin but personally i just want to see freeze because along with two-face and joker i think he's one of the better/more legitimate villains around, and not just some joke of a character.  i thought he had a lot more personality/motivation than other dudes and like i said earlier i think the whole sympathetic/tragic villain is cool.  they blew their load on two-face just for like the last half-hour of this movie which was alright but kinda disappointing because they killed him and now he's just DONE and it was cool but sort of feels like a waste, so i would say freeze is the next best choice.

I dunno, even the Penguin could be pretty believable if there's more emphasis on his original gentlemanly villainry and less on Tim Burton's physical deformed version (umbrella gadgets work, right?). Good contrast with the psychotic nature of Scarecrow and the Joker too.

actually the Riddler could work well if they make him like the Zodiac Killer or John Doe from Seven and he's just this crazy serial killer that leaves behind riddles and clues to fuck with Batman's head. All they have to do is avoid the campy green question mark themed costume and they're set.
b-but thats not canon.....

actually yeah RIDDLER SERIAL KILLER would be okay i guess but just a plain old killer seems kind of uninteresting, although i guess they have not really DONE just a regular murderer yet so much as people with SCHEMES so maybe not.

also i preferred burton's version of the penguin!  GENTRIFIED CRIME never seemed as good as some kind of dejected, deformed human living in the sewers or whatever.

well yeah, Burton's Penguin was good for what he was doing with the films, but it wouldn't work at all with Nolan's renewed films!

I think the Penguin wouldn't work but I also think Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a super awesome actor and would fit well into this world. Can't really think of many roles for him bar that, though.

I'd like to see a lesser known villain as well, but as discussed with my friend they'll probably feel like they need to do something big to match the Joker and smaller villains might not work for that. Fans might also get pissy.

I have no idea where they should go, really. I'm confident they'll choose well.

why do you say that?  i don't really remember much about batman returns but i dunno the penguin seems like one of the few parts of the earlier movies that would work.

Well, to be more specific, that's risky as hell. Could it work? Sure, it worked for Iron Man.

when did Iron Man make a new villain....!?

The villain in the last Iron Man movie was Iron Monger...he's been around for ages!
