@ Psyburn - Last life in the universe was a fantastic film, glad someone else put it on their list

I'd have Intacto right up there too, Spanish, very good. Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (2001)

also Solaris, Tarkovsky, 72 (Russian)

Alphaville, Jean Luc Goddard, 65 (French)

As for the rest can't really think right now.

Edit:

Navrat Idiota (Czech), Sasa Gedeon, 99

I have watched very very very few foreign language films in my lifetime, so I'm only going to recommend a pretty good movie instead of an AMAZING movie (because the amazing ones I've seen have all been mentioned)

The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988)

It's about the Prague Spring. Apparently the author of the book it's based on hated the movie, but I liked the scenes where they combined real footage with film footage, as well as the view from the point of a photographer.

I'm glad Amelie was on the list. That is my favorite language film and possibly my favorite film. Genius imagery.
