because sometimes people ask questions in a way that makes them sound like statements, and the period instead of the question mark is to indicate that difference in tone, and the lack of your voice raising at the end of the word or whatever.

wife: honey, i've been having an affair with mike for the past four months.
husband: WHAT.

see?  him saying WHAT? wouldn't have the same connotation.

also i think we usually leave the question mark out of rhetorical questions.  maybe that's not it specifically but i know i do it all the time

We're probably the only community that discourages women from posting their photos in the Picture Thread (or at least goes out of its way to yell at members for making "b.....booobies"-type comments)

well ugh forums are terrible for females. In all others I've been in, everytime a gggirl posts a photo, it is literally 20 pages of WOO LOOKING CUTE. Like people register an account just to hit on the mythical GAMERGIRL.

99% of guys on gaming forum's experiences with girls is going on a date with aeris in FF7 (which is extremely apparent if you've ever tried to play an average rpgmaker game).

Yeah, I don't even know who the hell some people are anymore. Changing your name is basically changing your entire identity here if someone does not really know you well enough. There are people who I know changed their names over a year ago and I still have no idea who they are.

yeah the name changing thing does make it difficult to keep track of who is who a lot of the time. i think there are a lot less active members here than i notice because the names keep changing, i just can't keep up. i mean if there is a topic made like "haha i changed your names!" as a joke, then that's different but i dunno why people feel the need to change their names all the time. if your old name was dragonrpgmaster0284 then you have a good reason but i dunno.

it isn't really the main guys who i talk to that do it now that i think about it, it's more the guys who are around but don't really stand out and i bet the name changing thing is the cause of it or at least is making it a lot worse.

Well, according to many people here, the name changes aren't confusing at all assuming you know absolutely everyone, and the insinuation is that if you can't follow the name changes you're not part of the community/a faggot.

i hate it when people like mog go apeshit over trying to BRIDGE THE GAP, then do absolutely nothing! then they leave gw for awhile and come back only to use every topic as an opportunity to point out the...gaping flaws.. in the gw system.
