I don't know how you meant this (upset that it's just ipods instead of other mp3 players or that it's just on the ipod itself) but...

Trust me, if this was on an actual gaming system it would be a pretty shit game!  I mean I have said nothing but good things about it (still haven't picked it up since this morning because yeah it is just that kind of play when you're already using your iPod type game), but that is because I am taking it for what it is.  For what it is trying to be (a fairly legit game on the iPod), it's very good, but if you tried putting it on anything but, it would be pretty bad.

Unless you put it on another mp3 player, that would work just as fine.  I am just referring to platform other than brand.

Problem is I don't have an Ipod or mp3 player XD
Ah well, can't get them all.

i don't know, that plot sounds pretty funny to me. i guess the DOES NOT COMPUTE might get tiring after a while *bzzt* DATA PROCESSING UNIT IS MALFUNCTIONING *starts steaming* OVERHEATING.. .HEATSINK REQUESTED *explodes* but that robot seems to be one step away from true consciousness. do you think the skull mask is indicative of anything, like maybe an alternative lifestyle? i guess the robots hate music or something. is your brother's name z.e.r.o. with all the periods or is it plain old zero?

this sounds kind of fun, i would play it if i wanted to do anything other than listen to things with my ipod. and the classics come with solitaire, a quiz show and some kind of breakout which isn't so bad.

Hahaha, the story sounds amusing!

I grabbed this last night and made a few guys from my songs. Doesn't seem like how much you've played a song seems to really have an affect on their initial creation process since some of my favourite songs resulted in shitty troopers, while some song I've never listened to by U2 gave me a really nice A rank trooper.

Yeah.. I don't know what to think... I'll plug away at this game some more later on.

Yeah I know.  I DIDN'T expect more from it.  It just teased me with a not-so-bad beginning (it was pretty CLICHE but not so bad) and then suddenly that scene.

It is fairly funny, but in the sort of way where I don't think it was really MEANT to be that funny.  I mean, it seems like they intended SOME humor, but the way Square Enix goes, they probably meant for most of this to be 100% serious, especially because every two seconds Ziggy goes "I MUST SAVE MY BROTHER WHERE IS MY BROTHER" but then a girl robot comes in and he goes "I ADMIRE YOU LET ME GIVE YOU MY BROTHER'S NAME"

Also his name is Zero, and it sounded like he was calling her Zero too, but then he spelled it out for her so I guess she thinks it's supposed to be Z.E.R.O.?  When he was telling her about it I didn't remember the dots but when it shows it above her dialogue it has it the second way.

Pretty early on, on like the third or fourth battle.  Which in game-time is about FIVE YEARS AFTER IT STARTS.

Typically, how long does each battle last?

I'm more or less concerned about the iPod's battery life. Hell, the thing dies if you play a video for just one hour.

I'm really shit at estimating time, the next time I pick it up I'll pay attention to the time and find out how long it lasts.  They're not very long though, with the exception of the slightly slow loading and occasional lag (considering it's on an ipod it's not too bad for it but it does happen).

I made like four or five "troopers" but I could only seem to be able to choose from three for the first battle?? Is that normal?

Yeah, you get to choose more later.  You get to have 17 with you and each battle lets you know how many you can use.
