there is no way id be able to bring 1000 internet people to my house to hang out.

mars volta is a good idea, but $42 is a lot.  Let me see what other shows I can find in NYC that would be noteworthy and also awesome to go to.

Yea, I'd be interested in going to see a show or something, but I'm not big into mars volta, so $42 is a bit much for me.

guys it's $42 how cheap are you

ALSO fuck the mars volta.  if you guys are gonna be in nyc around that time, there's a fender-sponsored jazzmaster 50th anniversary show on sept. 12th with j mascis, thurston moore, tom verlaine and nels cline.  you should scope that out instead since it is about 5000% cooler to get to see shit from dinosaur jr/sonic youth/television/wilco than just mars volta.  they are missing costello but oh well!

cool, i wanna see j mascis if its not too expensive! (Also it's a friday!) I mean, I would already be paying like $100 for a bus ticket to and from NYC, so it's not THAT weird for people to say TICKETS TOO EXPENSIVE

i mean i just think meets like this are kind of like MINIVACATIONS so it's a bit silly to set apart the time and even buy bus and plane tickets and then not want to spend $42 on the MAIN THING you're going to be doing when you're there.

It isn't that I'm cheap, I just don't want to spend almost $50 to see a band whose music I don't even know.  I'd totally be up for the jazzmaster festival though.

I might hit the New York Anime Festival... seeing as there are no cons I know of in Pennsylvania. If anyone else is planning to go...

I haven't actually heard of any of those bands (haha, the only concert I have ever been to is a They Might Be Giants one), so yeah, $42 dollars general admission (which is probably more than $50 because Ticketmaster likes to throw in ridiculous charges) is a bit much for bands I haven't heard of. If there's a jazz festival, though, I'd be up for that. :)

I don't really care what we go see hell, I'll sit through a paris hilton concert if I'm drunk enough.

But chances are I'll fly up to NY airport after I get out of a month in school if the GW meet date is close enough. But I'm still not sure when the classes end in sept and the meet date hasn't been set yet so we'll see.

but if I'm gonna pay 40$ it better be good and I've never seen TMV live so that would be cool. Then again Jazz is pretty sweet too, I really don't give a shit as long as we get toasted before going (I think this would be the best plan because I'd like to meet the people I'm gonna be hanging with all night before I get into a concert or whatever with a bunch of folk I don't know) and there are people to talk to.

EDIT: In order for me to be able to show up this would have to take place somewhere between the 15-20 although I'm not positively absolutely sure on that, I'd prolly just rent a hotel room or something if it was only a day off though.

EDIT EDIT: I might just rent a cheap hotel room the day of the meet to hang out in as long as it isn't too ridiculously expensive

I've only heard them mentioned in the lyrics of a different song. Never actually heard any of their songs.

Wizard World Philadelphia is pretty good.
It does look pretty cool. It's during the summer, though, which means I'll be back at home. I'll miss Megacon because of school, though. :(

i'd be down for any of these. maybe not dmb because i live an hour from where they formed so i hear their shit all the time and they're kinda gay. the fender jazzmaster special sounds really dope btw, what's the date for it?

also you can probably add me to the TRY MY DAMNEST. i'll most likely be coming! the only thing keeping me from saying YUP ILL BE THERE is my college schedule isn't completely finalized and there isn't a set date for the meet.

Hey I'd go to any but I picked a couple anyway that I guess I'd prefer

Edit: Actually GZA is best because I like it and it is on a Friday. I dunno that I really wanna take more than a day or two off from school  and in the middle of the week is going to take that.

but still I'd go to any regardless the result that's just most preferable
