i am listening to an album called "johnny 'guitar' watson and the family clone" that i got for 4.99 mainly because of how strange it was that the fifties southern blues singer johnny 'guitar' watson made a futuristic funk concept album about cloning and also because the cover owns

its pretty good though i like it!

space guitar!! johhny guitar watson!! that's a good song that's some heck of an AUTOTUNE heh. aaa holy shit MISTER MAGIC 1977 IN THE RELATED. catamites can you recommend anything from the troggs? i have been FINALLY checking out these youtubes here and some rule.the music thread posts by you and dietcoke are good. i'm on sick vacation or whatever it is called, fuck english!! create your own language etc. also REALLY suprised you didn't know the z***** band  i can't remember it's name!! anyways it's a cult underground band. i wanna do surf guitars i want to make surf rock or whatever it is called. because it looks like there simply isn't bands out there who, instead of take surf music to alternate rock context, actually DEVELOPE surf music or whatever. i guess jmickle's "laika & the cosmonauts" COULD fit to this but that damn wacker didn't suggest good inspiring songs or albums or anything. i know what i'm looking for over there but i need a lot of time to put things in motion... grand plans dumb ideas i know. i got ridicilously huge ideas cooking in my mind, always. someday im gonna realize what is common with punk postpunk soft machine live at paradiso fela kuti jeff buckley les rallizes denudes etc etc I KNOW there is something universal there i really like but it'll take a long time before i'll understand what is is and to actually UTILIZE that in practise. HEY on the topic of Jmickle, i have spotted like two middle-aged women at my job whose faces are a lot like Jmickle's and they are both nice people. maybe there's some nice person - genes in that face...?

'from nowhere - the troggs' is good! i actually have been listening to a surfish postpunk group in the recent past but cannot for the life of me think of their name. just listen to link wray heh....... also laika are kind of boring bubblegum revivalists iirc so don't hold out much hope on that front! the whole thing is surrounded by some awful KITSCH culture anyway. i don't know what the Z***** band is! wait are they the ones bort mentioned from the esp-disk catalogue

oh shit now i remember, it was Swell Maps! they were an excellent british postpunk group who played really insane diy shit with toy instruments and surf guitars and krautrock influence too on their later stuff. they're actually one of my favorite bands and most of my games are kind of attempts to do what they did except in game form (mostly failing in the process but there are worse touchstones!)

ahhh the z band i talked is the godz! i need to listen them myself anyways so fuck namedropping. thanks for troggs recommendation, this 'swell mapping' is pretty SWELL, could be some good rpg maker music!? just kidding but this is good. i really want to learn modern jazz-free jazz guitaring. thanks for warning about laika.
hey, i think i need to give something in change so how about alexander spence? grey/afro, not in best quality. fuck compression this album suffers a lot from compression. this song rules. drums and uh bass or guitar? and vocals.

Grey/Afro rules but i really like this song. Skip did only one album which is sort of cult classic. maybe overappriciated!?? actually it's definitely worth getting for and the songs are growers. like it's mostly jams but some of them stand out a whole lot.
like this song, it's year 1969 and this guy is something radiohead, post-grace jeff buckley or whole lot of BROODING dark bands do nowdays minus the psychedelia infuences in here. it's a really good fucking song and a composition and it's strangely a whole lot ahead of it's time!! actually what do i know, maybe these songs blow and theres legitimate problems with this buuuut it's a honest, zealous improvisation album by a near-fucked up guy and with that it's sort of beautiful. i could really write lot more and better about this but i'm losing my wind right now so maybe other time...

it works better listened to as a whole. standalone, some tracks really suffer.

but a solid release, though not for everyone. if "stylo" piques your interest at all, however, you should definitely find something to enjoy here

I found with the past two albums that aside from a few songs, most of them really were a LOT better when you listened to the whole album instead of the individual tracks.  Plus, a lot of songs I started off completely disliking and then over time grew to love them.  Too soon to tell, I'd say.

yeah some of the songs definitely wouldn't make very good standalone songs, it sounds like an album album.

although rhinestone eyes and on melancholy hill are my favorites, awesome songs. stylo, superfast jellyfish and empire ants rock too and white flag is neat. rest of the album hasn't completely clicked with me yet but it's definitely a good album and it's cool that they're doing something different.

I think one of my favorite things about Gorillaz is that all the songs are pretty different from each other, so you're never listening to the same shit over and over again.
