it's indie stuff, but I like some of it and it actually conveys some emotions I've been having/looking for in art lately. sort of like el perro del mar's grinning through the tears (haven't listened to her since highschool) but not exactly, it's like inhabiting an awful place and acknowledging it but still being okay, without faking it like all those awful hyper bands that were popular a few years ago: it's a party - we're doing great - life's a celebration! but we haven't completed the mental processes to actually feel this way let alone represent it in music and we're just emulating something someone else did. we're actually halfway dead inside. also reminds me of this music from castlevania: circle of the moon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RaZtKUt4MA&feature=related

i think it depends on the video because i just looked at the one for born this way and it had to be specifically crafted to scare the shit out of the vigilant citizen people.

I've not seen the video to Born This Way, but all I know is that even if you're listening to a high quality MP3 of it on good headphones it still sounds like it's full of radio static.  When it comes on the radio I can't tell if the radio signal is bad or if it's just the song, it's got some really awful synth noises in it that just sound like static.

Also cue Christian groups and probably other people taking Judas very literally and thinking that Lady Gaga is legitimately in love with Judas the Bible Dude and not just using him as a metaphor for a regular person's betrayal.
