I've watched four people play that game and I don't really feel like checking it out.

Edit: There was a racing game I remember reading about a few years ago.  The vehicles are souped-up fighter jets with the weapons removed and you race through circuits and whatnot that have been specifically constructed for the planes you're flying.  Something about the future having become peaceful and, instead of decommissioning the planes they're turned into racing vehicles instead.  That's about all I can remember though.  If it's on the 360 or ps2/cube/xbox then I'd like to check it out as I remember the graphics looked pretty good.

Found the game.  It's for the psx.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSN5YFZG-hg

holy shit dude i'm fucking serious. that's what you've said about a shitload.

"i've watched people it's not interesting"

go play the games. really. i don't get it. half the shit i see doesn't look appealing but turns out to be fun...know why? because i played it! watching someone else playing it is like...cutting the fun factor/appeal to -50%.

what the hell man. i sound really pissed (but i'm not trying to yell at you) but...go play some games.

half the games on your list is really good and bioshock is my game of the year for 2007...what the hell man?

It's mostly true.  I don't own very many new games.  The last systems I bought a lot of games for are the Gamecube and PS2.  I have a small assortment of games for my DS but I mainly play games off of my supercard for it.  As for watching people play games, after seeing the bigger scenes in games as they're being played by other people it's not as much fun reliving those events for myself so I'm looking for games that I haven't already seen being played.

Also, there's six games in the list of ones I'll probably check out.  I appreciate the suggestions so far.

Edit: I don't really want to play a FPS so I guess that'll save some time.

So yeah, I'm basically looking for suggestions that aren't those games, specifically ones similar to the games/genres I like.

The point of this topic isn't for everyone to blindly suggest games they like, I was kind of hoping for people to take a few seconds to read the games I like and then make some suggestions based off of those even if you yourself might not necessarily like the game(s) you're suggesting all that much.  I can be the final judge as to whether I will actually enjoy a game or not and I'm looking for ones that play similar to F-Zero X & GX, Burnout: Takedown, Syphon Filter (all), Paper Mario, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, for starters.

Opening the topic after reading "Recommend me some 360 games", blowing by my first post, and then suggesting a fps isn't going to get either of us anywhere.  Actually, that's a lie, it does get us somewhere, but only to a place that neither of us want to be.

Edit: Another game I enjoyed was Oni, though I've only played the PC version.

Well man, the problem is there aren't too many games out for the Xbox 360 right now that fit your description. Everyone has pretty much recommended all the games that are out for the system. I'll try my best to give you some recommendations, though. Burnout Paradise is pretty good from what I've heard, so you might like that much more than Revenge. Skip Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and go straight the the the second one, it's really good. You might like Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, but I am not too sure how similar it is to the Syphon Filter games.
That's all I can really think of. Most of the games have been mentioned. I'd probably rent some of these if you're really on edge with them.

I think you mean everyone has already recommended all the blockbuster/big name titles for the system.  There's probably some other games out there that not many people have tried and those are more likely to be the ones I will end up playing (like the two Marcus suggested).  I, like the rest of you, already know of pretty much all the popular games that are out for the 360 so I don't need you to recommend them to me.  Instead, it'd be nice if people threw out suggestions of less popular games.  So far I haven't learned anything that I couldn't have gotten from a quick trip to my local games store as they'd be just as apt to suggest Bioshock, Devil May Cry 4, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Gears of War, etc.

If there aren't any games out for the 360 that would be similar in style to the ones I've suggested then that's fine but I have an inkling suspicion that isn't the case.  Also, for the record, Burnout Paradise is probably the worst one in the series, I played it for a while and it was pretty bad.

Edit: Please stop recommending FPS games as well.  I'm not really a big fan of the genre to start and I don't want to play one on a console.

Ninja Gaiden 2....its pretty in your face from the get go. Even if youve played the first one, you get some of the new weapons early enough for it still to be a pretty new experience.

Actually I did but the fact you keep saying Ive watched them and decided you don't like them made me think "Fuck it, just play them"  and say them anyway. But if your looking for more low key games that are alright I guess..

Amped 3 - It's a pretty cool snowboarding game with nice graphics. But not much different from SSX if you've played those.
Fatal Inertia - Haven't actually played this but give it a try. Info.
Fight Night Round 3 - This game is the shit, just play it.
Burst Limit - It's Dragonball Z but an alright game, nice effects an what not.
Dark Sector - Played the demo, just reminded me off Gears of War but you might like it.
Ace Combat 6 - If you've ever played a flight simulator.. This is shit loads better.
Condemned Series - First Person but ok still and their supposed to be horror games.
Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars - It's C&C their alright games.
Army of Two - Haven't played this yet but I heard it's good.

Try those.

Oh shit I'm surprised no one's mentioned Condemned (and neither did I).

Okay it's an "FPS" but to be honest it's REALLY good. It's a different style (scary/horror type game). Also, it doesn't really fit the FPS mold all the way. The focus is on melee combat and you hardly use guns at all, so it was a "new" twist. The first one was a launch title for the 360 and was pretty much a sleeper hit. I really suggest it. Just try it.

Also, I'm going to third Beautiful Katamari. I really don't understand some of your preferences. Not-serious = Handheld? You really make like no sense sometimes Izekeal. Just get it, it's not a very expensive game (what I think it's like $20 now) and it's got a lot of replay value if you get into it. It's just a quirky game that you should (most likely) fall in love with.

If you like racing, go for Project Gotham Racing 3 or Project Gotham Racing 4. It's more...real racing, but yeah I hear it's pretty good. I had the 3rd one and I played it and I got out of it rather fast, but that's generally because I don't like racing games!

Do you like stuff like the Elder Scrolls? Because Oblivion is for the 360 and it's pretty damn good. Like a lot of people loved it (then shortly after started talking about flaws because the trend went that way but w/e) but it's generally a really good Elder Scrolls game. Look it up!

Burnout: Paradise is claimed to be a REALLY good Burnout game so if you enjoy that, check it out.

Command & Conquer 3 is supposed to be a really well-done strategy game on the 360. It has relatively good ratings and people say it's fun so check it out?

I mentioned Splinter Cell: Double Agent but I don't know if you said anything about it. It's a good game, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's not as stealthy as its predecessors but you can still do your best to be stealthy in it. It's still fun!

Considering you weren't into GTA that much, I'm not sure how much you'll like it but... Check out Saints Row. It's a pretty fun game, similar to the style of GTA but different in ways. Some people loved it (me etc.) and some hated it, so who knows? It has a sequel coming out this fall I believe.

Hitman: Blood Money is a good third-person stealth game. I haven't played it myself but I really want to some time. A lot of people think it's an awesome Hitman game. I really suggest you check this out too!

Bully: Scholarship Edition is a revamped edition of Bully, obviously! Bully is a really fun game from Rockstar but if you've already played it I don't think there's a LOT of incentive to buy this.

Lastly, if you like the music/rhythm games I know you've probably heard a lot of shit but maybe try Guitar Hero? Or save up a shitload of money ($190) to buy Guitar Hero: World Tour which comes out this fall, or Rock Band 2, or something like that. They're shaping up to be pretty good.

TOP 5 RECOMMENDATIONS
Condemned
Beautiful Katamari
Oblivion
Saints Row
Hitman: Blood Money

There we go. A lot haven't been mentioned here.  :)

Oh man, Condemned was great. Have you played the second?

Also pick up STRANGLEHOLD, it's pretty good fun and you can find it cheap if you look around. It's sorta like Max Payne.

Thanks for the newer suggestions.  I'll check out the demo of Fatal Inertia and I'll see if I can find Stranglehold and Hitman: Blood Money though I recall the demo being very scripted so hopefully the game isn't like that.

I didn't know you have a PS2. OK, that changes things:

Ratchet and Clank (whole series except last one is PS3)
Jak and Daxter
Lego Star Wars
Ace Combat
Onimusha series (1, 2, 3 and the battle one for multi... though it's not THAT good. More like Super Smash Onimusha, with the perk of playing as Megaman.EXE)
Mark of Kri
Rise of the Kurai (spelling?)
and I'll get back to you. Have to get to work... There's such a wealth of games on PS2.

Oh, Viewtiful Joe series is kick ass and hard as hell.

I own a NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, N64, PSX, Saturn, Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, XBox, Gameboy, Gameboy Micro, DS, and a PSP.  The Saturn and the PSX are modded, the PSP has custom firmware, and I have a supercard for the DS.

I have over three hundred games for those systems (legit and burned, but not including roms) though maladroithim is right, I guess I clearly don't like video games!

Ohhhhh and yeah I know it's already been suggested and you did your "I watched it don't like!!!!!!!!!!!" thing...but...

DEAD RISING. It's one of my favorite 360 games. I haven't played it in a while but I'm about to later tonight or tomorrow. It's so fun. It may seem repetitive but it's not. One of the quirkiest zombie games ever, some of the coolest bosses too.
