Alright hey guys. I am trying to use Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 to rip audio from a dvd.

For anyone who knows the program, this is a lowdown of what I did:

Basically I went into Advanced Projects in the audio section, and clicked Import from CD/DVD. I selected the chapter from the dvd on my D drive, and clicked 'ok' to import the chapter's audio. I chose to import it as an MP3 good quality, and then clicked save. The progress bar showed up and then this error popped up:

"Internal Error: No Streaming-Codec found for this type of Audio". Then, when I click ok to that, it goes back to the Advanced Projects section and a "read error" pops up, too.

For anyone who doesn't know the program, here's the error message that pops up when I try to import some audio into a editing program:

"Internal Error: No Streaming-Codec found for this type of Audio"

Now, I have no idea what a codec is, so any help would be appreciated greatly! I've tried using different sources, and formats, also.

Umm, why would you use Roxio, one of the worst pieces of software ever?

Open the .VOBs you want to rip in a program like VirtualDubMPEG2 or VirtualDubMod and save the audio streams to .wav, then convert with a free encoder like BonkEnc or CDex.

Wow... Is there any simpler way to do it? It works on another computer without doing this.

Also I had it already and it's fine for what I need, so...

This method is harder only in that it is lengthier, but will most likely produce higher quality audio files.

Lord Kamina's suggestion is the best solution, but just for reference, you could possibly solve that problem by installing an mpeg2 codec like ffdshow.
