There are some games that you can play on DS that will really turn that frown upside down. I used to be completely WTF at the DS until I played metroid prime hunters on a friends. I subsequently bought a DS phat with Mario Kart DS and I loved it so much I completed all levels with 3 stars.
what did i say that wasn't true?
the majority of the ds games i've seen have been things like mind puzzle ds, dictionary game, nintendogs or whatever the heck - this is the mass market rubbish i'm talking about and they've been all over every shelf i've looked at for ds games to the point where i'm embarassed at myself for even looking. they must be cheap to churn out and they sell so of course they'd be loads of them but this is what the ds is all about, it's what nintendo is all about. i don't like nintendo they are a stupid company.
the watered down ports would proably include metroid prime hunters which smells like something i've already played to me and aside from the cool it's in my hands now! novelty i dunno why it would be any different or better than the prime games. that's not a reason not to play the game if you like metroid - which i do, i liked prime a lot - but it doesn't inspire me to buy a console. for this guy, it doesn't matter, his friend is giving it to him for free. mario kart ds, well i mean that's just the same game which has dozens of other versions. if you're REALLY INTO mario kart for whatever reason then go ahead i'm saying it bores the heck out of me.
there's nothing worthwhile on the ds you can't get elsewhere apart from a few interesting adventure games like hotel dusk, and probably phoenix wright or lost in blue but i haven't played those.
when it comes to games i apparently have high standards or something, i just don't want to waste my time with stuff i've paid for and played before, and i am probaby just being an asshole sticking around and letting everyone know about how stupid i think almost all games are but it doesn't mean what i'm saying is just a load of rubbish.
