he also said somewhere in the massive amount of interviews i read that one of the playtesters beat the game with only killing a single radroach.

The option to beat the game as a pacifist is always interesting.  This definitely was not possible in Oblivion (to my knowledge).

Nah, there's so many missions dedicated to "kill this guy and get a key/item"

the developer/loudmouth that hypes this game as awesome first person shootan said you can literally steal his hat.

i will only kill people with hats. ONLY! then steal them

More hype for FO3.  Sounds interesting, however this article sparked some talk about FO3 not following the lore of 1 and 2.  (on the Gamefaqs boards)

A random encounter with an empty house had a trap, a shotgun that was connected to the door, so when you open the door you get shot with it.

From a brazilian preview.  Random traps?  Yes please.

these sounded cool in oblivion too and then it turned out to just be like 3 different traps with different spins in 80 million of (essentially) the same dungeons

I had fun with traps in Oblivion.  I'd shoot a dude with an arrow and wait until he came running at me, hit a tripwire and killed himself.  If there are things like landmines in Oblivion then I'll gladly take the time to lead some baddies to run over them.

haha you mean landmines in Fallout right?

see you can't even tell the difference :(

but idk this looks alright and hopefully it's tongue-in-cheek. i'll end up getting it most likely. that article about vault 106 a couple posts up is pretty cool though, sounds really interesting.

Another article of a guy playing the game said he "acquired" a house with a robot butler (customize your characters past their original appearance yay) and after accidentally attacking it it chased him out of town with a flamethrower.  Other NPCs will ease off if you yield like in Oblivion but apparently "mindless" enemies like robots and animals will chase you.

I don't know, I just got the humorous image of HELPeR from Venture Bros. in my mind going berserk and launching fireballs everywhere.

I prefer the idea of Mr.Butlertron shooting fireballs and rockets.

hey does anyone know if i should wait for the pc version?  morrowind and oblivion were infinitely better on the pc since they came with a bunch of stupid design flaws that modders fixed, and in general there were a lot of neat little things you could change that you couldn't do on the console version, and since this is like OBLIVION WITH GUNS it would follow that this would also be a lot better to own on the pc, although i don't know if they're building it for modders the same way they did with morrowind and oblivion.

fuck bethesda

I just read an interview with Mark Morgan... Turns out Bethesda didn't even approach him to do the soundtrack. They are happy to let INON ZUR, THE POWER RANGERS GUY or whatever do the soundtrack but MARK MORGAN NO LET'S NOT EVEN ASK HIM even though he is publically expressing interest in doing it.

this game will not come with an editor like Morrowind and Oblivion did, though they said they hope to release it later.  so it may be a while before any mods come out(more so if they end up never releasing the editor)

this is completely false because inon zur did the soundtrack for fallout tactics and they're bringing him back to do fallout 3, but why they didn't pick mark morgan who knows!?

This sounds suspiciously like fanboy conspiracy - they are ruining MY Fallout!!!! and all that.  Even if it is true, maybe it's because by the time the game was announced they probably had staff hired and a project planned etc and like maybe didn't want to hire a bunch of additional people for no good reason?

fuck bethesda

I do not remember the Fallout Tactics soundtrack but I DO remember the Fallout 1 and 2 soundtracks so they were probably better.  They probably should have hired Mark Morgan :(  At least it isn't Jeremy Soule!  Fallout 3 would be pretty lame if it were scored by the same looping three minutes of generic epic fantasy music.

Man I am stoked for this game.  I can't wait until winter vacation!
