I think early AFI is more streetpunk and later AFI is more emocore. They might have one or two songs that fall into a more pop-punkish sound from Sing the Sorrow (Girls Not Grey, Celluliod Dream?) and December Underground (Summer Shudder, Killing Lights) though.

No offense, but that cover of Come on Eileen was ... blasphemous,

if GW still was a circlejerk then every single topic would be about porcupine tree like it was a few years back, because they still seem to be the most popular here.

Also I really don't like this kinda music, it's really boring and is generally written for the sole purpose of being a commercial product as opposed to expression, and being one of them crazy fools who prefers the artistic and/or instrumental side of music this really holds zero redeeming value to me.

it served the purpose of getting people into music they wouldn't hear otherwise but yeah it was really ridiculous how that happened, and I can only think it was a combo of just EVERY ADMIN liking dream theater and nerds.

these are stupid posts and while the other ones saying UGH...THIS BAND REPRESENTS ALL THAT IS WRONG aren't much better, at least they are based in some degree of established truth whereas yours are just whining with no justification.

yeah fair enough, i mean, there' snot really a point in derailing topics, but sometimes expressing an opinion can do that, especially when that opinion is 'i hate this kind of music!'

on topic though, I have The Offspring's greatest hits cd, its pretty good, though I haven't listened to it since I stopped liking them.
