GW Olympics - COD4 (PC) Singles[/size]

Okay, so things with the GW Olympics have been sluggish at best. We've got one event finished (the speedrun event), the SFA3 tournament is just about to begin and the Olympic Mapping event has been postponed. So to speed things up a bit, here's the COD4 PC tournament.

It'll work in a 1v1 Knockout tournament, though since I'm not in the know with COD4 on the PC.

So post here if you're interested in this event, and let's sort out some kind of rules or map choices etc.

Also, if you're interested in taking part, let us know your nationality as the usual with these events. coo'.

PS: Don't fret, a 360 event hasn't been ignored.

For me, whenever I play COD4, it isn't so much about 1vs1 cage match, but more about teamwork.  So I really don't know how it would work, but I would rather have like 2vs2 or 3vs3 teams as that would be a better fit for COD4, which has big maps (besides shipment) and requires teamwork for almost every single mode besides cagematch.

This, large maps and small team numbers.  I'd be interested, but I'm not really too good at the game.  My average KDR is less than one so..., I don't know yet, maybe if more people sign up, I may join...  but with school coming up, and last minute things.  I may not be available.

Anyways, I'm from the US

again, I'm not entirely sure if I'm up for this.

I doubt there's enough people for 2v2/3v3, there's only ..12 people who play COD4 on the PC (according to the nifty poll), and I'm not sure how many people will sign up for this since school has started etc. But we'll see what happens when more people show interest etc.

But 1v1 is pretty epic, the silence between the kills is so tense.

I may have to give in and buy this, but we should definitely have a TF2 match after!

^ Yes, a TF2 match would be a lot better as teamwork is key (as CoD4 is just quick reflexes), and a lot more people here have it.

If we do have a TF2 tourney (whatever its called), I'm in if my school/Work schedule permits (read: Not Monday or Wednesday, unless after 4pm EST for school..., not sure about work though)

Any chance we could, uh, do this on a hamachi server?

Yeah, I loved San Andreas, but it was just such a black game. :x Like. Eh, I dunno, it was all so frickin' black, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of Vice City more.

There's way more to CoD4 than Quick Reflexes if you aren't on a terrible server. :p

EDIT:
Not sure if I'll play or not, tho...

We just need to get somebody to host our own server.

Even if your CoD4 is copied/pirated, it works online.

The only problem COULD be overlapping serial numbers, but I doubt that will happen....

...I hope?

cod4 has team-based play in that you should honestly know better than to put a claymore RIGHT BESIDE YOUR TEAMMATE'S FUCKING CLAYMORE IN HARDCORE MODE IT IS A RETARDED WASTE OF CLAYMORES

i'm definitely up for this; it'd be great if we had some 3v3 headquarters, especially on a level like overgrown or crossfire.

Can we please not do air support though? Having a goddamned helicopter racking up kills for you says little about your skill.

Well, it's all down to if we have enough people who are genuinely interested in taking part. Otherwise this doesn't look like it's happening.

I think we need to get a list of people who want in, and possibly some definition between what exactly you want to happen. I mean, Singles is the safest bet for the number of people who have this, but if we can get enough to do some form of team matches then that's always an option.
