So right now, my second hard disk, (where I keep all my data) is not showing up. This problem started recently, whereby sometimes I would startup and the POST screen can't detect my drives. (it would say "Primary Master: NONE" and "Primary Slave: NONE") wheres other times it would be OK.

Since I bought these drives, like, 3 weeks ago, I doubt it's the drives, is it the cables? (often times after turning it off for like HOURS it would startup fine)

1. Open case
2. Push data and power cables in nice and firmly at the drives and at the motherboard ends of the cable.
3. Pray that has fixed it.

The thing is, the PC will be working just fine. Then I might need to restart for something, but BAM, error. And just a while ago, I got a "Boot disk  not found, insert boot disk and press enter" but the drive WAS showing under Primary Master and even Primary Slave showed up too.

I've opened the PC tho, removed the cables, cleaned out the processor fan and condenser (dust *_*), restarted and got same error, considered throwing a bucket of water in the PC, hit reset in frustration, and it came up with "this disk need to be checked for consistency".

It's working now after it deleted a bunch of shit, all I could see was "Index (stuff) deleted". Hopefully its for good!

sounds like your drives are dying, I had one that started doing that and eventually started making all sorts of nasty noises so I assume that this is your hard drive telling you that its on its way out.

Yeah, except both are new D: The old drive DID have a problem, a few days ago it started showing

IMMINENT FAILURE DETECTED BACKUP DATA TO AVOID LOSS

at the POST screen. Thats when i replaced with a new HDD.
