Actually it's alot funner when you can pump your game full of creatures that all kill eachother on sight regardless of their choice of food.

I geuss we'll have to wait for the mods to come out for this to get any better (space stage is definantly interesting I did like altering planets and stuff but I still want a natural disastors tab, or natural disastors period), cause I ain't waiting for an expansion thats gonna include the water and true air creature parts that i'm sure is to come if this sells well.

Seriously the Creature creator is all I need, i'm going back to that.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

I quite like this game.  It's simple but it's addictive.  I bought it and I don't regret it (yet).

I have just gotten to the Civ stage and got my ass handed to me so I think I need to add more attack parts to my monster (I was trying to be nice to everything but that doesn't seem to be going well).

I don't like this stage as much as I like the last one though.  I met this pickle looking monster who had like 300hp and befriended him and he single handedly kicked the ass of everything that attacked me.  I figured he would be gone once I entered the Civ stage but he's still  here (he's hanging around in the fenced off area beside your main hut (he's not as useful now though :( ).

I think this game is going to be a lot better once the modders start doing their thing though.

Whoa whoa whoa... have you guys even made it to the space age? How far have you gotten in that? It get's quite a bit more entertaining and deep compared to the tribal and civilization stages.

Spore is in no way a bad game. The DRM is fucking stupid and the game does not meet up to the hype because there are some bland bits and customization of cities could have been handled better. That said, the product we have isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. Boring bits, yes. Flawed aspects, yes. Overall though the game rocks.
i'm the revered or something, 2/3 of the way through the space age, and it's still pretty boring. you know what would go great with those gear-shaped canyons? chocolate-swirl oceans! drop some cute mountains and you're good. ^_^

but yeah i pissed off some huge empire and now i get pirate attacks every five seconds, and that is the only thing keeping the space age somewhat interesting. even they suck though

i don't know, i can't think of a reason to replay this.

Yeah. Spore needed to more like E.V.O. and less like the sims.
Well, I'll wait for LBP cause I know what I'm going to get. A simple platformer that I can customize the hell out of and not just broken promises like Spore was.

Seriously that is a great idea.  I really DO think I enjoyed E.V.O. more than Spore, with the exception of the creature creator.  E.V.O. with Spore's creator would be amazing.

Will Wright should give me money

Edit: I remember how trippy the first level of EVO was where you were a fish, I can only imagine being a bacteria in the very first stage and then fighting some anthropomorphized microorganism that's the big boss of that level because he has a NUCLEUS

Edit: Oh wait the final boss of EVO is like that, brain fart for a second

EVO was an awesome game and that is what I compared the cell stage to. Creature still sort of retained that gameplay, but it was, overall, more sluggish feeling.

And like others have said, this game needs some modding.

Man, I am really kind of dissapointed this game turned out to be so bad. I really wanted to recreate some of the pikmin creatures you know?
Looks as though it is not worth it now
don't mind me, just postin' after a few brewskies

What a disappointment. I've waiting this game since ever and it turns out to be a pile of shit. :(

EVO was incredible. Random jellyfish helps you get around the world and you thank him by eating him THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR OM NOM NOM

Spore is fucking boring. It scored 90+ everywhere because reviews were written on 5 hour plays. They promised about 8.5 hours to get to the space stage, but it only takes 4 (if you take your time). There's NOTHING to do at all once you're in space, really. Sure you can make alliances, but what's the point? Allies don't do ANYTHING to help you. You can setup trade routes, but what's the point? You spend 3 million to buy a planet which is never going to make you more than 50k sporebucks. After you fully upgrade (takes 3 or 4 hours), there isn't a single enemy in the galaxy (including the grox) which can stand up to you. Yawwwn.

I have said this to a few people already but the thing that pisses me off the most about spore is that the player has a -completely- different set of rules to play by then the computer, especially in space. Not being able to defend your planets remotely, or send fleets to attack other empires makes your giant empire really, really, really shit and weak. Why does every empire get 500000000000 ships, per planet, and the player only has one ship in their 500 planet empire? Fucking yawn.

I don't own the game personally, but i played it on my friends laptop and it seems... nifty?
but not something i'd invest a lot of time in completing as i would a product of squeenix, just something i'd fool around with until i could make  a decent shredder to kill all your ninja turtles i know you've been working on
i'll pick it up some day when it's in th 7.50 bin at walmart or something
How do you guys make signatures? i can't figure it out

now at tribal stage, I am unsure if I want to carry on because it's mad dull. I could do these tedius boring challenges or... I could be playing stalker and restarting my crashed computer every five minutes. The later is the most fun.

tribal takes like half an hour, civ takes about that or just over, then you're at SPACE

SPACE, kaworu. SPACE.

SPACE.

For god's sake, you people make it sound "Superman 64" bad, when all it is is mediocer.

After... "obtaining" a copy and getting to the civlization phase, it's worn a bit thin, but at least give credit for the creature editor.
