Im really curious to see how this season will end, and also if we will be getting a 4th season.. if not then they are going to have to start wrapping things up.

This episode was okay, things don't seem to be going very fast, and the motives of the dad isn't too strong. I want Peter to get his powers back and face off against his dad... cliche, but they better do that. We all want to see it happen! Heroes, with ALL IT'S AMAZING POWERS, has yet to show me a good FIGHT, come on!

there were a lot of small nuances i liked in the last episode, and even though the major plot points were v dumb it really shows how characters' powers have been evolving. for example:

1. nathan can break the sound barrier (dont know if he always could but this is new to me)
2. matt can bring people into his mindscape things
3. sylar's power is finally explained (empathic, but he thought he had to analyze things due to his natural intuitive aptitude is what i'm thinking)

sylar, peter and mr. petrelli all have powers within the same family of powers. once they master it all they'll be able to all do the same things, it just manifested differently for each of them based on their personalities. the same thing happened with matt parkman and his dad and they've talked about that on the show.

Except they just retconned Sylar's whole power, basically, with the intuitive aptitude and the 'hunger'. Now a LOT of things make no sense, even within this season.

His original power was intuitive aptitude, or whatever. Seeing how things work, and fit together. That's what the whole deal with the watch was, seeing how things work. Future Gabriel even explicitly stated that was his power, and it'd be pretty dumb of the writers to try and say heh intuitive aptitude with ANYTHING basically, including watches and how the world will degrade, is totally the same as a form of power empathy. His power was so interesting and original and actually had pretty good potential, but now it's just another way to make him a super-powered character on par with Peter and Papa Petrelli.

i don't think intuitive aptitude was his actual POWER though. pretty much everyone has a certain degree of that, hell even i have a good chance of knowing how things work when first looking over them. i think his real power is the ability to gain other powers, and his naturally high ability to understand things was his way to achieve that end,

"How things work" is what he does. That was his THING, and now it's total trash and I can't believe they wasted such an original power.

I agree with NP. I think Sylars power was the ability to understand powers by looking at the brain, but then it evolved to understanding the actual person to get the power. And I think missingno's on the right track with the evolving powers. Peter and Sylar have the potential to master there powers to get it on par with Mr.P and be able to take away powers (well maybe not Peter anymore).

what i said (sylar's power being in the same group as peter's) doesn't exclude UNDERSTANDING THINGS from being his original power. people start off with different powers but as the powers grow and develop, the user becomes open to other related powers. i'm very sure that this was explained at some point between MAtt and Maury (season two??)

but even though that's what's going on it doesn't mean i liek it (i agree that UNDERSTANDING SHIT was awesome enough on its own and totally could have been developed in a much more unique direction) the series is still written like total shit now and they;re just making it worse and worse  :fogetcry:

Hmm. I don't like Elle. It was pretty sweet seeing Sylar try and use his powers and getting the crap beat out of him.

Hm. It's funny that the whole Hiro in Japan was meant to start in Season 5. I guess Kring wanted to kickstart and get straight into, resulting in the removal of two writers and as he says, "take the story back to the characters" for Season 4.

Season 1 was so great, I've only been watching these for the storyline and some pretty slick characters.

So far, this latest episode is my favourite from season 3 and it doesnt even have any powers in it lol. Still didnt like Hiro though, anyone else think hes acting nothing like a ten year old apart from maybe 2-3 sequences with him trying to be a little silly to convince us off his new age. They should have made him maybe 10 years younger which simply erases his memory of all events and not try to turn him into a child because it just doesnt work.

Took him a while to use his abilities properly as a fully capable adult yet as a 10 year old he's mastered his ability instantly. Also thinking about the last episode, what was with Ando using his fingures to make Hiro blink which then teleports them away? I can swear Hiro's abilities take alot more concentration and thought to work rather than simply having to just blink.
