ya what he said

your costume looks great too! it definitely looks stereotypical cliche healer fantasy type stuff, but it looks really well done, but maybe i'm just used to those people who dress up as videogame characters and fail at it!

the fighter guy portrait looks rather paladin-esque, and the thief guy looks like a total cliche D&D thief too.

cliche is good int his case tho so dont think i mean bad, it means pretty much like fantasy if you brought it to life and it looks kinda neat. im a real fantasy fag so ill prolly check this out and see if its decent or not...

Haha yeah the corn is part of the fun ^_^. And you know, don't be discouraged. What we did was print off casting notices, post them on community forums, and at EB Games stores and Games Workshops because we were looking for gamer actors (not actors who would be willing to do it but didn't game)

Thanks! The costume took a lot of work so I'm glad that you appreciate it :).

As for Anthony (the fighter guy :P) Yep he's awesome at his role. And you know what- he has the exact same voice as the guy who did the acting for Tidus so it's double funny.

And Cesar (the thief) doesn't have as much experience as everyone, but still never ceases to crack everyone up with his lines at table reads. If you tihnk he looks like a thief now, you should see him in costume!

No no no. My old projects were for a class in Catholic High School so they censored a lot of my work, I had to use the actors in the group I was assigned, and I was given only a short time to write. This is fully independent. We're all university :)

because right now i can't decide whether the fact that this topic is modeled after a G&D topic is the best or worst thing about it

also i honestly haven't been interested in any of the topics in this forum for the past few weeks.  everything is either some stupid fucking TV like HEROES SEASON 3 - SYLON IS NOW A GOOD GUY or whatever the fuck (i'm pretty sure one of my room mates said this yesterday, i have no idea who sylon is, i thought that was from battlestar galactica?) show or some shitty movie that i have no interest in seeing.  PIRATES 4, man i don't give a fuck.  EITHER WAY I keep an eye on topics but i rarely have anything to say because there are rarely any interesting topics in this forum.

yeah i know WHY DON'T YOU MAKE SOME TOPICS well i think i'm going to bring back that product placement debate from a while back, that was a really good topic

wait i just read the topic please tell me the joke about tyrone l jackson the black mage isnt that he's a stereotypical black man

edit oh wait he was based on barrett.  but barret was based on incredibly racist japanese perceptions of african americans!!!  i hope the joke is that rpgs are often culturally ignorant and not lol hes militant

Thanks Headphonics.

And sorry for camping, but Roman it's not based off something in G and D. My game I had been working on is in G and D and it was deleted. Because it was deleted, I started working on writing this because I had been on such a creative stream that just sort of ended.

Headphonics, it's exactly as you've said, we're making fun of the culturally ignorant RPGs and NOT black people.

Well I thought that maybe you were parodying G&D topics by formatting it like that.  Like, if this movie wasn't a parody of RPGs, you wouldn't have formatted the topic like this, right?  Right?

Maybe. I'm just used to advertising RPGs so this is the way I write, I guess. It seems the most organized way to get things done :)

Maybe it's fine for RPG stories, but I think it gives TOO MUCH INFO AWAY for movies.  Like half of what you revealed about the characters is something that the viewer should learn by watching the movie, not by having it spoon-fed to him before he watches it.  That takes away from the enjoyment of the movie itself and also assumes that the viewer is stupid and can't figure this out from watching the movie.  But the movie is a parody of RPGs so I guess it's ok?

Everything here is given away in the first episode (more or less) or can be deduced by the audience. The important plot details are left out of the breakdown, as I've mentioned in my first post.

I'm trying to talk abuot this like a project, also. Much like people talk about art projects etc. So I'm giving a bit more info here than I would if I was just posting the film. Also if I posted "we're making an RPG parody" and left it at that, it probably wouldn't fly too well.

i never said your movie was based on an rm2k game, i said that i thought the formatting of this topic could have been a parody of g&d topics, but apparently it isn't!

Just an update (I'm aware this is old but I don't want to start a new thread)- this will be delayed longer...

(expl: if you feel like reading)
5 of the 7 principals and 2 of 3 crew members go to York University and because of a strike situation that was just settled they'll be in class until June (we were supposed to resume in April). Hold in there, though, we're still working! Just a...minor(major) setback.

We started it...but we had to wrap up production cause we were shooting in one of the Parklands and it being Canada the leaves died and changed so we couldn't film anymore (plus the cold). Are you from TO? We're going to need some extras later on in the summer if you'd be interested! Send me a PM.

As to how far along- we have all the costumes and weapons made, the scripts finalized, and some of the scenes down on camera. But it's gonna be a loooong summer! I think it's gonna be great (or as great as you can make on 6 people working minimum wage jobs and going to school lol)
