here let me give you some context.
about an hour into the movie (although it will feel more like two or three hours into it) the main character who is a crazy twelve year old girl meets a retarded guy. they become friends because, woah, retarded people have the emotional maturity of children. I get it. so they play their stupid games and the retarded guy cries a little and then they play dress up. so, you know, the retarded guy says that he likes the girl and he kisses her. woah! that's a little awkward, but ok, I'm thinking, I'll see where this goes. then the retarded guy explains that when he was little, the girl's grandmother (long story) used to stick her tongue in his mouth. I don't know if a retarded person has ever explained his experiences with molestation to you, but if one has, then you can probably imagine how awkward this scene is. then he kisses her again, and she calls him a "silly kisser." All right, this is a bit much, I don't know if-- oh, scene change. Ok, that's cool. Woah, explosions, awesome. then, I can't remember why, but the retarded guy is holding a doll arm, and he asks the girl if the doll was a boy or girl. she takes it and says it was a boy. "but how do you know?" asks the retarded guy. then she holds the arm in between her legs. get it? it's a penis. except it actually isn't. but, uh, anyway, the girl says, "It's a 'thing.' I don't have a 'thing,' but you do, so it must be a boy." See, now we're back to the sexual tension between a 12 year old girl and a retarded adult. then, uh, the retarded guy has a secret? or something. so the little girl gets on her knees in front of the retarded guy, right after their discussion of "things", and the framing of the shot is very suggestive, and the girl says, "I want to see your secret."
he kisses her one more time I think and then my roommate and I both raised our hands and shouted "done" (this was not planned!!) and watched the history channel instead.
