saw the sherlock holmes movie. not what i'd call a brilliant movie, but it was pretty fun without making you feel too stupid for watching it.

yeah I saw that the other day and thought it was pretty entertaining. Robert Downey Jr seems to be great in everything he does and seeing London in Victoria times never looked so great. The only part that was a bit weird was when they somehow went from houses of parliment to tower bridge under a secret passage when Westminster and Tower Hill are pretty far away from each. Not quite sure if they were just ignoring geography or pretending that this long passage would exist, becuase I dunno, did anyone else get the feeling in the movie that Tower Bridge was built right next to Parliment?

well from someone who lives in London, it was kind of odd considering they are about 3-4 miles apart and I swear at one point in the film they were both in the same shot

I watched Public Enemies last night and Christian Bale put on an accent that made him sound retarded.

The cinematography was just shakycam but for a mafia film so it didn't really go together all that well.

OK so it had Johnny Depp in it but big deal. I could've composed the sound track using a plastic bag and gaseous anal seepage.

yeah it was just not good. i didn't like the whole shaky cam thing at all, and for how awesome of a subject and casting there was for the movie, everything just seemed really underwhelming.

yeah public enemy sucked. they tried to go for a documentary style of shooting and a realness when they used the fake 16 mm or whatever. but honestly YOU SHOULDN'T DO THAT AND ALSO HAVE CRANE/HELICOPTER SHOTS RIGHT AFTER SORRY GUYS. would have been way more interesting if it were shot all on 16mm. hah. not just in the anachro-technology jerk but it would have forced them to do things differently.

anyway i watched the old Grapes of Wrath the other day. Really like that one.
