Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, omfg what a great movie. I'm not normally into murder/mystery types but this was just excellent.

I might have to start searching through more Swedish movies.

Went out tonight with a girl I know, we were meant to be in a big group but no-one else turned up and after the film we ended up KISSY KISSY. Ah such a good mood I am in. ANYWAY. Alice in Wonderland was better than all the negative nancies have been making out. Not that my experience was biased in any way...... Nope.

Watched Before The Devil Knows Your Dead. Another incredibly depressing movie. It even had the same actor that played the teacher friend of the main character in the 25th Hour.

I also watched A Tale of Two Sisters. Its a weird Korean horror/suspense movie that had an ending that I can only theorize about. It was kind of slow though.

I watched the invention of lying about a week ago. It was pretty okay. Like it wasn't great, but for the most part I enjoyed it. Like, you can definitely tell that the movie was mostly designed in mind with a sort of Gervais attack on religion thing, but its not like I disagreed with his assertion about religion or anything :P

Finally got to watch Precious.

The Blind Side can go suck a dick. Stories based on true stories just don't feel honest with me unless it involves somebody doing something horrible to somebody else. Without that, I can't even figure out how somebody can think it was a story worth telling in the first place.

My bosun told me it was some show made by the producers of the wire and its kind of like that except its based on new orleans? is it any good or what?

yeah, it's called treme, but it hasn't aired yet. according to wikipedia the first episode airs on april 11 and i will definitely be checking out the pilot at least! it's made by david simon, the head guy of the wire, and stars a couple of the wire main stars, too (the guys who played the bunk and lester are the main pair i think). i don't know much about it other than that it's gonna be about new orleans, katrina and jazz music!

oh hell yeah

I think this show is going to beat the wire though. some crazy shit goes on in new orleans and its a really interesting/fun place, I hope they put steven segal in it for an episode or something that would be hilarious. Btw has anyone seen that cop show with segal in it? Its pretty funny and mostly bullshit but its really fun to watch it with some locals that can tell you about the different parishes and cops or whatnot.

also segal uses chi to shoot q-tips
