stuff that relies on being shocking for people to talk about it is the worst garbage in the world. aa seriously if you want shit that's more shocking than that look at some of the hentai people masturbate to or if you want good horror read some junji ito

man yeah the human centipede is really gross, and the only interesting thing about it is the idea that the creator didn't tell anyone who funded his movie what it was about until filming was done, which would have been REALLY FUNNY had it been anything other than this.  like, if someone had made some really really good movie that normally wouldn't fly in hollywood but just hid most of it until it was done for the sake of funding, that would rule.  but for this?  ugh.

someone's already got a tattoo of it, btw.

Just came back from Prince of Persia. I was expecting it to be pretty bad but I was pleasantly surprised. Definetely the best videogame to movie adaptation, largely in part because it deviated so much from its source material but still keeping certain elements present. Jake was so-so, but Gemma Arterton stole the show for me. Well done.

That's how she was supposed to act. Much better to see a strong-willed woman than the typical "woe-is-me" damsel in distress that is so worthless.

haven't seen it so idk which of you is right on this matter but i just wanna say that strong-willed and bitch don't have to be the same thing, you can write a female character who is strong willed without being a total bitch but unfortunately this isn't something that you see a lot of

in my experience whenever someone refers to a "strong-willed woman" in some big hollywood film it's in reference to a horribly written psycho sex idol. BDSM undertones are also often present

I watched The Searchers last night, it was okay. I liked how all the supporting characters were these absolutely ridiculous folksy caricatures, like they just wanted to stuff comic shenanigans arbitrarily into each scene to stop people getting bored. Hey look it's a presumably tense scene at the climax where the townspeople are riding into the Comanche camp zzzzzzz boring lol here's a bumbling cavalry officer to lighten the mood. A special mention goes to Charlie the guitar-playing postman for a performance so incredibly over-the-top as to be genuinely bizarre. Ah'll thank yew to unhaynd mah fie-ans-ee, haaaaaaaaw   haaaaaaaaw   haaaaaaaaaw. I guess it must have been a rule to have some minor comic characters somewhere because I remember there was one in Touch Of Evil too but it is always deeply disorienting to me!

has anybody seen a movie called The Human Centipede???

A friend found the trailer and showed it to me and it looks like a generic straight to dvd horror flick but in it resides maybe the most fucked up premise to a movie i've ever heard...?
rami watched it, dunno what he thinks of it though. the trailer and whole idea is pretty lolworthy though.

anyway i saw kick-ass yesterday, i liked it. good stuff. nothing exceptional but it was entertaining and mildly funny.

Maybe they should make a she-hulk movie.

Oh wait... looking at a google images search of her shows that she's still slender when she's hulked. I thought she became a giant beast like the male hulk...

ive decided not to go see human centipede next weekend at the theatre just because it sounds too horrid for me to handle, but i do give it props. imo this is the reinvention of the horror genre!
