I'm not sure if I've ever actually seen Liar, Liar though.  I mean I know I've seen the courtroom scene where he has to say the color of the pen (it's blue) but I can't remember if I watched the movie when I was young and just can't remember the rest of it or if I've just seen that scene.

The point is everybody's at least heard of it.

Man I think I remember that scene, I'm sure I've not seen the movie itself but maybe that was in a trailer for it?  It probably was.  But I never denied HEARING of it I just really couldn't remember the title.  I knew the word LIE was in it, and then I looked it up.

I had to watch the Truman Show for a class, the premise was great but I didn't like the movie itself at all.

truman show was kinda cheesy and overwrought, but i didn't have much of a problem with eternal sunshine.  i do not KNOW MOVIES though really, and it's been years since i saw it, so maybe i'm forgetting something.  i also seem to recall the mask being really gay i can't believe you like it!!

yeah i think the truman show was pretty overrated. it was ok but idk it just didn't seem to be... serious. it was bordering on comedy when it was supposed to be more of a serious movie.

this is why i said in premise not execution and i am thinking of JIM CARREY MOVIES WHICH IS THE BEST, I never liked it much but I guess in the same way PREMISE was better than anything else he's done humorwise.

I like how since Liar Liar he is constantly on this shtick where he plays a guy who has an impossible circumstance and learns how to deal with a thoroughly middle class problem. help i got fired there is no god help i lied to my son help my life is somewhat boring. guess what now UR GOD/U CANT LIE/U MUST SAY YES TO EVERYTHING.

Eternal Sunshine is one of the most boring movies I have ever seen, needed more Tom Waits references.
It just seemed like another of those films released around the time, indie romantics or whatever, Kinda bleak and dull to appeal to trendy kids. the kind of shit Zack Braff makes when he isn't being paid small countries to appear in scrubs.

Man I haven't watched  a film in ages, like november or something.

the best thing I've seen jim carrey do was when he was a guest on saturday night live and he did an impression of jimmy stewart doing an impression of jim carrey.  that was pretty great.

I was going to watch Eternal Sunshine with my friend today, but I slapped Reservoir Dogs in his face instead. I swear my friend was a single rub away from ejaculation by the end of that film, fucking superb. If you've seen Pulp Fiction, the style is very similar to that, especially the script. A number of gangsters go to rob a store, only for it to go wrong. The best film about a heist, where you never see the actual heist haha. Amazing stuff.

hmm maybe. But sometimes I think that serious films need an element of comedy in it to keep it human. Regardless of the situation we get ourselves into, we tend to find humour in them. I think the Coen brothers pick up on this really well. But yeah, maybe The Truman show over did it, I can't remember, I haven't seen it in about 5 years or so

So is Kill Bill, but Kill Bill seems quite far from Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs to me.
Pulp Fiction almost seems like a sequel in a few ways.

Just saw the machinist, there will be blood, and requiem for a dream. none of them are happy movies! i thought requiem for a dream would be more upbeat but i should have known better since it had a wayan brother in it. heh.

all three seemed mostly stories which was a nice change though. maybe i've just been watching movies wrong, or maybe i watched these three wrong.
