Well what else is it supposed to look dude

Well Shaun of the Dead was a pretty smart zombie comedy.  It could look like that.  Only it doesn't.

Eh.  Love Happens.  One hyphenated word explains it all: rom-com.  Not much to say.  Super generic and formulaic but not terrible.

Acting was pretty good though, Aaron Eckhart is one of my favorite actors here recently and Martin Sheen is always fun to watch.

But yeah, very average date movie.

Zombieland was actually pretty fun

i really hate that michael cera jr. kid that stars in it but it really works in this movie. his character has this obsessive compulsive need to follow the rules hes made to survive and it really seemed to add to the movie.

my favorite part, probably because i think every person whos seen a zombie movie has thought about this, is when the kid is trying to get into his car and is being chased by zombies, so he runs large circles around he parking lot, trying to get into the car on each pass. pretty great imo.

im going to toystory/toystory2 in 3d now though so ill see if i still like it later
it's obviously not any kind of award winning movie but it's at the very least worth a rental

Away We Go was really, really good. Basically, if you dig the trailer, I think you'll dig the movie.
Me and Tom Under the Boardwalk ... there is so much fun to have under the boardwalk

I know this topic isn't "What anime did you last watch?" but it's close enough. Recently I was watching Movie 6 of One piece which was fan-subbed by Kaizoku-fansubs and it is one of the best One piece movies out there. It's a lot darker than most other One piece movies which I found really interesting and kept me glued to the screen for the entire movie. This movie is fairly outdated right now, as One Piece movie 9 has already been released but it's still one of the best. Kaizoku-fansubs just finished subbing episode 258, so I'm gonna watch that next.

well zombieland, adventureland, squid vs. whale were all michael cera type roles, i haven't anything else with him so i'm not so sure but really he could've stood in on any of michael cera's movies
the two of them have a knack at that annoying quiet quirky character and i suppose if i had seen him not playing that role i might like him

ps. i ran over him imdb page and like 4/10 posts on his board are michael cera topics so...

Just watched Invention of Lying. It could have been better and not as funny as Yes Man however, still suffering from the same romantic problems.

I always thought Zombieland was going to be one of those movies that you can enjoy but forget about once you leave the theatre. But all this praise has really made me consider watching it when it cones out over here. Surrogates was.. It was ok. Nothing great but not terrible either.

Film is an artform, whether or not specific films are art is debatable. Though not having seen Jennifer's Body, I suspect it has some redeeming artistic qualities but i'm not so sure.

Anime is bullshit regardless.

as long as you believe this, you will never be a true filmmaker.

Who the hell put you in charge of deciding what is what?
If you want to consider Film as ART then you have to consider all forms of amusement in form of media or visual entertainment as ART.

Geez man.
Though film is a relatively new art form, it is the art of moving pictures. Also yeah, who did put me in charge of deciding what is what, film being an art form.. And who put video games as an art form, besides a bunch of nerds who know nothing about art in general sitting behind their computers holding their controllers wasting their lives away trying to justify the explosions they're experiencing as 'art'.

anime is for nerds

Seriously man, what're you going to convey in a video game. You know in other art forms people usually you know, convey something, formalist cinema and all that... but what about in a video game? 'can love bloom in the battlefield' my ass

And yeah, I just hate anime in general but there is good 'anime'. Of course, Hayao Miyazaki has been solidified as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, but that said anime is bullshit.
