No, that's why YOU'VE been playing it over other MMOs.

Yeah but he has a pretty good point Mark, at least I think he does. Even if he didn't explicitly say it, WoW was built as a PvE game in mind, everything truly PvP oriented that wasn't World PvP was completely tacked on at a later date. It's pretty obvious that PvE has always been the main focus there. And you can't really say the whole "it just didn't go live in time" excuse that I've seen a lot of hardcore WoW PvPers say. No, because Blizzard has the mentality of never releasing anything until they are happy with it, so if they wanted PvP to go live, they very much so would of held back WoW's release date to add it.

WoW is always going to be balanced around PvE, this is pretty much a fact and undeniable. The only thing I could see them doing is ripping off yet another thing from Guild Wars (wow that totally makes 3 things now if they did this, all pretty big things toooo....not that I really care, people rip shit off each other all the time) and making the Tournament Realm have its own skills. ie: MAYBE TAUNT DOES SOMETHING NOW or MORTAL STRIKE DOES HELLA LESS SHIT but only on the Tournament Realm, or taking that a bit further and making skills do completely different shit in BGs/Arena only.

WoW isn't even a good e-sport, not just because of how imbalanced to shit it is (which can lead to boredom from spectators), but because of how one sided the gameplay is in PvP. Every good frost mage is going to play the exact same, which even adds more to the boredom of the spectators (not good in an e-sport). Every good sub Rogue is going to play the exact same. Add to this they chose a less competitive format (3v3, instead of 5v5) and you got a recipe for disaster. Maybe not immediately, but it'll go downhill barring any MIRACLE CHANGES, trust me.

It really saddens me that ANet chose to like, not make Guild Wars an e-sport in-so-far-as entering it into professional e-sport places, simply because they wanted complete control over their own game and wanted to be the sole hoster of tournaments for it or whatever. That stance has seemingly changed now, so maybe for GW2!! I say it saddens me, because watching an 8v8 GvG is almost like a sense of wonder. It's down now, but there was like a 3 hour show on TV for the second world tournament in GW and got mad views. Add in the fact the game is balanced around PvP, is way way wayyyyy more balanced, and every class can play in many many ways, and you got a successful recipe for an e-sport. Look at Quake, or CS1.6, etc.

Yeah I'm totally aware of all that, I'm just saying PVE is hardly why I keep playing.

My Paladin, who I don't think I've shown here in like... 2 Months. Back when he first hit Level 70, anyways I think I've done a bit of improvement and I'm still a Tankadin :D Only issue I can see with my guy so far is that I need more Health and like, 3% Overall Avoidance. Other then that, I'm doing amazing and fell in love with the A'lar fight last night. Tanking 9 Baby Phoenix's then Bubbling as they all explode is fun as hell, especially when I'm launched across the room and start tanking 2 more. Its awesome.

Anywho yeah, can you guys tell me what else you think I need  to work on?

SIDE NOTE: My Guild on Velen is looking for an Elemental Shaman who can make Raid Time and shit, we don't care if you have amazing Elemental Gear we'd help you get at least Tier 4 Equivalent shit, we just don't want a prick who'll bail on us. If interested, check us out at:
www.select-gaming.com , Just say Cariborne sent you to sign up and I'll explain shit.

My pally tank friend who I always run heroics with. He's got a couple raid upgrades recently, but before he was almost entirely in badge/crafted gear and still tanked better than most warriors I've met. His main hander before the hyjal drop was the cudgel of consecration, which is doable I'd say. Personally I've no experience rolling prot, but at the least you could compare gear.

Your pretty well geared for a Protadin. I highly recomend the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31858, as it's arguably the best Protadin trinket right now. Also look at investing some badges in the gear at Quel'danas if your sever has the Blacksmith open

There's a change on the TR to Cheat Death making it affected by resilience.

Means rogues with PVE gear won't be able to rely on the innate survivability of the sub tree while still doing monstrous damage, they'll have to use PVP gear in arena like every other fucker.

Rejoice.

edit: to be honest though it won't really change much, the tree still has stupid survivability.

Yeah, except on my realm the cheapest Furies Card sells for like 990G, so yeah, our Economy Sucks. And I'm actually saving up 75 Badges for the Plate Boots from the Isle Vendor.

I'll be honest I saw this comming. More reason to respec my rogue to Assassination (considering none of the talents get nerfed [which ][/which]) with WotLK

Assassination is far more intriguing right now. Double Poisons, 15% Chance Physical Effect reflection, Stackable Enrage Effect, Refreshing SnD, Maximum of 40% Increased Poison Damage.

Don't get me wrong, Sub is getting some amazing stuff like the Waylay talent and the 51pt is really interesting. But it doesn't get much of a DPS boost compared to the new Combat and Assassination talents.

yeah, mutilate is so good with the new talents.  the problem i've always had with sub as a raider is that while swell/very survivable, it honestly gets sort of boring to play and you can't pve whatsoever with it.  sub is still going to be ridiculous even with the cheat death nerf ((() but i've never found it as interesting as mutilate to play once the initial rush of fun wears off, and this is especially true now that the assassination tree seems to be getting more interesting with the expansion than sub will.  plus i always raided/pvped so it's nice to have a pve build that's functional in pvp too.  i rocked bgs and could hold around 2100 in 2v2/3v3 before needing to respec away from a relatively pve-centric combat swords build to something more pvp focused, and i think that's pretty alright!  fuck this ONE BUILD ONE PURPOSE shit.

i loved mutilate even before the last buff. its so fun to have like, 5pt SnD 5pt Rupture and doing 5pt KS or 5pt Evis/Envenom while they tick away. I was always able to survive fairly well, since I played 41/0/20 (ive never done a 41/20/0) I snuck around a lot. Getting an ambush crit on a mage/lock, doing a mut then like a 4-5pt KS if they aren't dead already. the dps is a little low in raids, but at 41/0/20 I think I had hemo right? maybe that's the 31/0/30 build. hm. yeah but the mut changes look hella good now I  kind of want WotLK :(

dont go back man its gonna suck so bad

also you didn't have hemo, that's as 31/0/30 30/0/31 31/3/27 etc.  41/20 lacked the cool sub shit but i was used to not having mod anyway, and you gained a lot in the way of sustained damage in pvp.  plus it was PASSABLE for raiding unless the mobs were immune to poisons, which happened a lot.

Silk stacks. 22g. More than a dozen stacks for sale all by different people.

It does not get more fucked up than that.

Patch 2.4.3 is interesting so far...

The twink nerf is nice. Dodge/Parry/Block ratings are cool!! Dispel changes is needed. Level 30 mounts is VERY nice, and the lowered cost (35g) is even better. It's going to make leveling that much faster. Removing Curse of Shadows and applying it to Curse of Elements is w/e :/.

The improved Help interface is VERY VERY nice.  The current one is bit unwieldy.

on PTR
http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_2.4.3

Mounts at 30?! Yes, it’s true: Apprentice Riding and mounts are now available at level 30. Training costs 35g.

plus Pallys and Locks get their trained mount at 30 too.
