Here is the reason I haven't touched RPG Maker in awhile, my pride and joy, that is rather frail.

Cariborne, The Level 69 Blood Elf Paladin, EXACTLY 300 EXP away from Level 70 :P
I would think someone would go out into the outland, kill a single mob for 300 exp, turn 70, and then take the picture. But whatever works.

I happen to think I'm doing pretty good so far, I have 8 Greens (Eww), but 10 Blues, and 2 Whites, just because of my Shirt and Guild Tabard. I have 11k Armor, 9.1k Health, 6k Mana, 144 Spell Damage and 415 Defense. I plan on getting the Righteous Armor before I go into Karazhan, as well as a Mage Sword that Murmur drops in Regular Shadow Labyrinth, it gives like 188 Spell Damage, quite nice I dare say.

Anywho, my Guild is getting ready to start Karazhan, we'll be diving in... April 5th I think we decided on. So I have until then to get myself ready. Now, what I'd like to know, is what stats I should have when we're starting Karazhan, being a Protection Paladin and all. From what I've been focusing on so far, I've been getting Strength for Block, Stamina for Health, and a bit of Intellect for some add Mana. And then Spell Damage for Aggro, and Defense for... Defense, and Dodge, Block, Parry etc.

Anywho, yeah, thats my pretty(Mismatched) lil' Paladin I made like four months ago... And one of my Guild's only Tanks. So, if any of you play on the Velen Server, Horde Side, say hi :P

Anywho, Cariborne, Captain of Karathiras, Velen Server, says Ciao.

Read up on your class at www.elitistjerks.com. A bare minimum would be 490 def (to be uncritable, i think it is 490 for a pally), 12k health, and whatever it takes for your dumb class to be uncrushable.

is this a serious post

i can't tell if THIS is a serious post either. i'm just going off the general consensus from the rogue forums, you put 8 hit gems in ignoring socket bonuses unless they are too good to pass up until you get VERY CLOSE to the hit cap, then you use the 4 agility 4 hit or whatever ones. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

I've never played a 70 rogue myself, but the general consensus I get from most raiding rogues I know go alongside this, aside from also using 2 +agi +stamina gems to be able to activate the Relentless Earthstorm Diamond.

Best gem spec for any raiding rogue is pretty much what truth said

8 Hit - Yellow
4 Agi 4 Hit - Red
4 Agi/4 Sta (I think those are the stats) - Blue
RED - Meta

I reccomend http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=43765 for your Well Fed buff, keep up SnD and Rupture and you'll top the damage meters. The Hit Cap is like 360 or something around that, once you hit that start stacking Agi and Crit.

The hit cap is 364. As mentioned on EJ, there is no rule saying you MUST get as close to the hit cap as possible. What you do have to consider though is that the shifting nightseye is generally a bad choice beyond the 2 you need for RED. Personally I gem whatever I feel like as long as I stay above 300.
<ramirez> well i know you disagree with me about that, and i agree that you disagree
<ramirez> but i still disagree with it

ya i explained this to truth on aim but what i meant was that the new hit cap since they changed weapon expertise is still pretty difficult to hit in even the best of gear, and it's still just an arbitrary number like 308 was.  your dps isn't going to magically increase a substantial amount once you hit it or anything, so the answer isn't just stacking hit to the exclusion of all other stats, it's getting as much hit as you possibly can without giving up too much crit/ap.  a lot of rogues on the forums never understood this (though ej is pretty good about not being retarded) and just took the hit cap as being something you have to get to at all costs, when it's just an ideal, and by no means necessary or at this point even advisable.  how many rogues do you see running around with 350+ hit rating?

unless your hit is just really low, i would use hit/agi gems sooner than i would just hit ones.  being close to or above 300 is fine, and you can easily get that with decent gear, good trinkets (wsc, that ap one from bt, w/e), and hit/agi gems,  which give you every stat you want in a raid, not just hit.

I think however, the reason most rogues try to stack a bunch of hit where they can is because they want to try to stack haste gear where they can, as haste i think i just read is better than hit per point

too much math god damnit

edit: and most haste gear has no hit on it iirc

there aren't really as many haste pieces as you might think.  there're rings, and certain other pieces, but not a piece for every slot, and i think a decent amount of the pieces for some of the slots are coming from uh... whatever that troll 10-man is, which would probably be inferior in item level to bt pieces.  especially since they nerfed it months ago after the initial rush of haste stacking, i think that a lot of the +haste pieces, especially the newer ones coming from az or wherever, just aren't definitively superior to their bt counterparts (i.e. random haste piece vs t6, although maybe there is haste on the three new t6 pieces).

i took a glance at some of the NEW NEW SUNWELL shit though, and this is kind of irrelevant, because a common trend seems to be gear with agi, stam, ap, crit, hit, and haste on it.

yeah idk about that shit.  everything i see from dps warriors' gear tells me that you guys stack armor pen over haste, but at least before the nerf to haste, i know it was plainly superior for us, and i'm not even sure about which works best at this point, since i don't play anymore.  i do know that just because it's better for warriors, though, doesn't necessarily mean it's the same for rogues.  i wouldn't be surprised if haste was still better, if only because it scales incredibly well, and armor pen is more or less a static increase in flat damage, even if it scales from a % perspective.

I was sitting with 357 unbuffed +hit until I got my ashtongue trinket (Bye bye romulo's vial). It's definitely not impossible to hit the cap without gimping your other stats too much, it's just something that occasionally happens on the way to perfecting your gear (pre-sunwell). The midnight chestguard from Archimonde was an insane hit-rating boost for me. It's nice to have though, so you won't drop too low once you change out your low level items with insane +hit, such as the trinket.

I'll probably also switch out Nyn'jah's Tabi Boots with Shadowmaster's Boots from Shahraz eventually. That'll drop my hit rating by a fair amount, but I'll probably still remain above 300.

As for haste, it's good for rogues as long as you keep it to PROC effects. DST is still the best rogue trinket in the game, and the warglaive bonus is just insane. However, stacking passive haste gimps your other stats too much. ARP is a very good stat for rogues, and is definitely a better investment than haste.

Yeah, times have really changed even from the launch of BC to now, let alone pre-BC to now. I remember when I first hit 60, I had no fucking clue how I would obtain epics. Hunters were overplayed and it was hard to get spots in raids because there were always better geared hunters that sat in IF waiting for a group to settle for them. Now, with my last toon I leveled, I had several epics waiting for me at 70. The game has gotten a lot easier and with the next patch, it's going to make a lot of content obsolete. We will now be able to use your badges to buy the epic raw gems from MH and even new epic weapons that are crazy. So, if you grind badges, you could have gear better than people farming BT.
