I suppose this is a complaint I've had against videogame media coverage in general for a while - its very difficult to get a plain, comprehensive list of all the games that have rated well in the last year or so. Review sites review whats new, but usually don't have a list in the nature of what I'm describing. Youtube is a mess in terms of looking for any form of a games rating list. Gamefaqs kind of helps, but usually the games dominating the top 10 are games that have been out for a while that just rate well (WoW, D2, etc). I guess I'm after a videogame version of rottentomatoes.com, does it exist or am I dreaming? D:

I'm looking to zerg through and download what I can for DS, PSP and PC to play through on the holidays, but its proving annoying to get any comprehensive list to trawl through.

Edit: I should add this section of the forum helps to some extent. :)
"the way you speak about rm2k3, like "modules, arrays, pointers" sounds like
you're some badass c++ programmer stuck in the past and only has rm2k3 to
work with"

Doesn't rottentomatoes have a videogames section?

EDIT - Okay, just checked. Seems they took it down. But you can always try another aggregate reviewer like http://www.metacritic.com/games/

Looking through the same thread you created this topic in you can see what alot of people are playing and their own personal opinion of the game..

When a new and good game comes out someone normally creates a thread for it here!

I don't really LOOK but I find out eventually kind of thing, from friends, podcasts, here, or whatever means. Like what DS said if a games good you'll probably hear about it if you find out about it yourself or not.

Gamerankings and Metacritic are specifically the videogame versions of Rotten Tomatoes.  The only difference is that movie reviews tend to not give specific scores or all have very different systems, so RT just indexes the number of positive versus negative reviews.

Gamerankings and Metacritic average the ratings of all game websites because almost all video game reviews assign a point score out of 5, 10, or 100.  1Up is the only major exception I can think of, which uses a letter grade system, but it's still closer to a point value than say thumbs up/thumbs down.  In the case that a video game review does not have a point score of any sort, the editor at Metacritic will contact the review author and ask for an approximation.

I don't believe there is any aggregate for video games that uses Rotten Tomatoes' Thumbs up/Thumbs down formula though.
