Theatrical Trailer.
Imdb Link.

Quote from: Plot Summary(Imdb)
'Quantum of Solace' continues the high octane adventures of James Bond from 'Casino Royale'. Picking up literally hours after the previous film left off, after being betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Having captured Mr. White, and in pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and 'M' interrogate Mr. White who reveals the organization which blackmailed Vesper to steal Bond's casino winnings is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille, a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene, a ruthless businessman and major force within the mysterious criminal organization known only as 'Quantum'.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world's most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano. Using his associates in the organization, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in Bolivia, giving General Medrano control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land which is, however, a main source of the South American water supply. In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists, and even 'M' herself, to unravel Greene's sinister plan and stop Quantum from getting its way.

Anyone seen this yet or planning on seeing this? I thought Casino Royale was an amazing movie, definitely gave the series a better look and feel in my opinion. Plus it wasn't just some middle aged guy running around with perfect accuracy and screwing every bitch in sight.

I just came out of this, and I really enjoyed it. I think I probably enjoyed this more than Casino Royale, but I'm not sure. It was definitely less stylistic and it didn't try to be as modern, if that makes sense, but it was pretty intense and still had those funny, fun James-Bond-is-a-douchebag moments that kept the mood relatively lighter than it would've been without them. I enjoyed it pretty thoroughly!

Yeah I saw this yesterday. I thought it was really good! I'm not sure if I liked it more than I liked Casino Royale but it was definitely a good movie.

I only saw about an hour of it because then my copy went into german language and I don't speak german, but what I saw was a boring flash of action and angst. Again only judging by the first hour, it did have some cool moments that were good, but it seems a letdown compared to Casino Royale... And having similar looking people in similar clothes meant that I never really cared about anyone while watching it.
I mean it's noway a bad bond film (Moore and Brosnan have safely made that impossible for a film to be on the bad end of the bond spectrum for quite some time!!) but my hopes were high as Casino Royale was really good.

I watched Casino Royale recently and loved it, so I can't wait to see this. I did hear it was the shortest and most action-packed Bond movie though. Is that true?

in the first hour I'd say about 5 minutes did not contain fighting or chasing.

Arnold/Stallone styled action or Bourne action. Y'know cheesy or gritty? I also hear it's got a lot of quick cuts through out.

Bourne action without a doubt. Some of the fight scenes reminded me of the Bourne movies tbh.

I think the Second Unit Director is the Bourne guy, that'd be why.

Just in the first car chase

Its not really a bad movie (went to see it tonight) but its hardly like the first one which I think is simply because it isn't as NEW and FRESH as a new Bond series.

I already said this in another topic but it was disappointing, and I'm usually pretty easy to entertain. The plot wasn't interesting, the movie dragged on for too long and it got boring near the end, and even many of the action scenes were pretty blagh, especially the airplane part. It was still mildly entertaining and it wasn't bad by any means (especially when compared to most Bond movies) but yeah, I was disappointed.

The only bond movies I've seen other than this one are Goldeneye and Die another Day.

I don't like Daniel Craig as much as Pierce Brosnan as Bond, just because Brosnan's Bond was a much cleaner, gentleman Bond, while Craig is an unstoppable Bourne-type kill anybody Bond. But this movie was good! I really enjoyed it, and caught myself gasping a few times when Bond did some pretty extraordinary stunts. Like beating up 4 guys in an elevator with his handcuffs on.

Personally, I prefer this Bond and as especially as he's developed more into this cold and almost merciless killer who only occasionally likes to show his nice side. The film though? I thought it was pretty awful. I thought the directing was pretty good (the best bit in my eyes, was the opening credits where James is floating through nothingness, which I thought was incredible), but I felt the script was far too weak and there was way too much action, which fucking sickened me. I know I'm missing the point of Bond here, but I can't help it (they're trying to get more serious, thus I look at it serious).
I want the whole point of bond to be destroyed and I want the next Bond film to be very heavily script-based and about darker themes, with less action. Even if that would never happen in a trillion years.

P.S. I'm also pretty pissed they turned Mathieu Almaric into the generic foreign villain. Go watch him in The Diving Bell And The Butterfly, far superior film and Quantum of Solace makes him a characterless shit.

Who the hell likes Brosnan's Bond, it was like he was flying through the movies for the money. Everyone knows Connery's Bond is the best.

EDIT:
Also I too was dissapointed with the movie. :/ Not as good as I thought it would be.

How is beating up 4 guys in an elevator 'an extraordinary stunt'?

I was also a tad disappointed at this movie, but I still liked it. There was too little plot and too much action, and after the previous bond I was expecting something much more. Still a solid action movie.

big thanx to dragonslayer for sig!

Brosnan was in some of the worst Bond movies, but I still think he was also in the best (Goldeneye). And before anyone mentions the videogame, I hated that game...
