K I don't own any games for it yet, but My dad says I can get one for christmas

So whats a new game that came out that would be good, I figure if I get a "free" pass I should get an expensive one beacuse the other big titles like Mass Effect and Bioshock are already affordable for me, so I want a good $60 title that's coming out this season and I want a really long one too.

and before everyone says Fallout 3 or Fable

I have already rented and beaten those and I liked Fallout 3 but not enough to 100% it, and Fable is on my short list but I'm looking for some other suggestions.

I really like long epic RPG's (obviously) and I do not like Shooters (except call of duty but my freinds are gonna get that one) or racers and I can't stand action games that I can beat in a week (the really good ones Ill just rent and go from their)

so any really big new games coming up

also,
NO HALO! NO HALO! NO HALO! NO HALO!

I was raised on playstation (only got xbox beacuse it was cheap and all my freinds have Playstations so we can just much of eachother)

the new Prince of Persia. If you like JRpgs, the new "FF" games is coming out, Last Remnant.

Eh. here's a list of upcoming 360 games.

Mass Effect and Fallout 3 are the best RPGs on the system, but since you've said no to those, the next best would probably be Infinite Undiscovery which isn't saying much. Tales of Vesperia is ridiculously long so if you like Japanese RPGs, that one should last you awhile but it's a JRPG PURE AND SIMPLE so if you DON'T like those, stay far away, it's gay.

Grand Theft Auto IV is a cool game, so is Civilization Revolution if you like turn based strategy games. If you like platformers, Lego Star Wars is surprisingly fun I found. It's LEGOS yeah but there's a lot of content and it's pretty solid for a platformer.

Games I suggest you avoid:

-Too Human. It's got RPG elements (collecting equipment, leveling up etc) but it's also a piece of trash with terrible balance, lame combat, and a ridiculously cheesy story.
-Assassin's Creed. This is a rental! It's fun for a bit but my god does it get repetitive and the novelty of a HUGE WORLD seriously wears off when you're left trekking through it.

There's also Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts which is a brand new release but also only 35 bucks. It seems VALUE PRICED for a reason though, I find the controls and some missions frustrating as hell. But you can build your own vehicles and stuff which is surprisingly addictive but I've only played the demo.

As for games yet to come out, I don't think there's a ton left till the new year. Halo Wars and RE5 are both next year. Most of the stuff released this month and last are shooters, ie Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty.

edit: oh, looking at that release list, I forgot about that Last Remnant game. It'll probably suck like a lot of recent Square Enix games but if you like epic RPGs then it might be right up your alley. no way to say right now though.

Lost Odyssey is a great "epic" RPG for the 360.  You should take a look at it.

Last Remnant is going to be amazing and I think thats not very fair to say since it's Square-Enix really trying to buck Japanese development traditions and it looks really really unique and well thought out for a change. The story doesn't sound all that unique but maybe it'll be told very well. I'm more interested with the other features of the game though!! It's definitely something I think you should watch out for because it looks like it'll be the best RPG on the 360 for some time and this is coming from someone who really doesn't like jRPGs all that much.

so is Civilization Revolution if you like turn based strategy games.
Hey, I'm a huge fan of the civilization series and been thinking about this game. But is it really good? I was completely disappointed with the new Colonization game and tbh the idea that it's WATERED-DOWN CIV sounds kind of gay but I really want to know how good this is from the perspective of a Civ-lover (are you one??)! So yeah is this game good????

also the two games I have that I consider the best are Call of Duty 2 and Saints Row 1 so that prolly says a lot. I've playin' quite a few newer games but I didn't really dig them too much. GTA4 is cool but kind of loses focus after a while... and Mass Effect just ain't for me. Don't get Burnout Revenge though - it's an awesome game but the loading times are ridiculous and waiting 30 seconds for a track to load gets old quickly, especially if you're trying to get gold on a speed trial level (pretty much means you have to restart once ANYTHING goes wrong at all which happens very often on the faster levels).

I just got a bunch of new games and I'd test them all for recommendations but my exam period is coming up so I'd better not.

Too bad you're not into shooters though... the Far Cry 2 is pretty awesome (and new) (heh stalker for newbs). If you're into the idea of having a huge world (it's a lot bigger than first comes off!) and lots of guns and vehicles and open-ended mission structure that game's for you.

Also don't get oblivion. I tried playing it after playing Fallout 3 and jesus christ it's such a disappointment to go back to that shit :(

It is good.  It'll feel watered down at first if you're used to Civ4 (which I love), but then after you actually get into playing it you realize that it's not watered down, it's just streamlined to make it easier to play on consoles.  It works really well, I wasn't disappointed by it at all.  Or at least, not by much--the only thing that upsets me is that you can't play the game of the week unless you're connected to the internet the WHOLE TIME, and if you lose your connection it quits your game and you can't save it.  Like I said this is just for the game of the week, but it means that if you have a dodgy internet connection that's a piece of the game you can't play.  Oh well, otherwise it's a completely great gaem.

Mass Effect was awful, I was so hyped for it but it ended up sucking, it was way way way over complex. Like ludicrisly. it also got boring.

GTA IV was Ok, and it costs alot.

I would recommend Dead Space, Or fable II, Fable II was dissapointing too though, only one save slot and when you die you loose NOTHING.

Alot fo the games for the XBox 360 are disapointing actually. Plus the console dies alot. only system with really good games right now is the PS2 and PC.
I don't know how good halo 3 is, I heard it sucks from one of my friends who is a long time halo fan though. Unless you get an XBox live account which costs 5-30$ (Everyone either says 5 and everyone else says 30, I don't know which) a month, most of the games are garbadge. Pretty much all there games are only good with multiplayer. If you want a solo game or a game for it's storyline pick up a playstation console.

I dunno man it looks pretty bad from what I've seen. Have you seen the gameplay videos on gametrailers? The game slows down A LOT, it's the worst I've ever seen from a Square-Enix game. There are textures popping in seconds late. I think the story might be better than your typical jRPG, but Square-Enix needs some help with the Unreal Engine. The game is supposed to be out by the end of this week too, so I don't know what the deal is.

But I don't have too much to add. I mostly agree with Rowain for your choices. Definitely rent some games too.

He sort of said DONT BOTHER MENTIONING every game you mentioned, and XBOX Live costs 7.99 USD a month, give or take, as can be found here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/memberships/subscriptioncards.htm

And I don't understand the Mass Effect complaint! I mean, Mass Effect is CERTAINLY a flawed game but OVER COMPLEXITY isn't one of them. If you mean the codex entries, then yeah, there's a shit ton of LORE but very little of it is really necessary for understanding the story. I'm just saying, Mass Effect had some terrible sidequests and a terribly shallow moral compass, and these I think are far better criticisms than over complexity.

Mass Effect had a better "moral" compass than other RPG's. At least it had some variety and not just "be good and give him x item" "be bad and kill him". I liked the way they went with the dialogue choices.

Also, seriously get the new Prince of Persia. It looks much better than the other series. Has more of a magical setting instead of the Egypt setting.

it's the worst I've ever seen from a Square-Enix game.

In the year 2090, there will be "Final" Fantasy VXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXY
So much for final LAWL
Square-Enix makes about 80% of all there funds on little fan boys and fan girls who buy ALL THERE STUFF!!! And then spend all day making fanfics and fanpics that make more little fan boys and fan girls. I think the worst think I've ever seen from Square-Enix, Was Square-Enix.

He said no halo or fable, I said Halo 3 was crap and Fable II sucked, didn't recommend them. My point was there are no games good for Xbox 360 really. And I've played mass effect, everything was way to complex. I had to complete alot of shitty little sidequests just to get a license to purchase some shitty weapons which were underpowered. And then whats this shit with classes and a mixture of classes and a mixture of equiptment and licenses for classes and a mixture of story line and over all gameplay based on classes, and thats just classes, and then for the classes you go into skills, which go into how high your level has to be for this skill and what you can and cant do with the skill and most of the skills are utterly useless if your a "Charge into battle with the best weapon you can get your hands on and screw potions and skills and healing, the best defense is an offense strong enough to kill the enemy before he kills you" kind of guy like me. No instead its like "Try to paralyze the enemies then take them out in a strategic way" Making your enemies incapable of movement is a BIG ass part of most of the game. No it's not over complex at all.

I hope that's not your only reason for saying it looks better.

I'm not trying to disagree, but that's an awfully bad reason.

"it looks better cause it doesnt actually like persia more like fantasy kingdom #42"

The first PoP > Any PoP made afterward.
I actually never even got halfway through the game.  It's gone more from King's Quest now to God of War.
Which reminds me they need to make some more King's Quest games. those were awesome as hell.

hahahah you suck at videogames.

CLASSES? DOING DIFFERENT THINGS? LEVELING UP SKILLS TAKES TIME?

also I never once froze a single enemy and I beat the game twice.
