Besides spending 3 hours or so on the phone to Aliant when getting broadband, only to find out 'lol you need a new modem we'll send someone over' I've really had no problems.

Satalite kind of sucks because if it's stormy outside (aka 365.25 days/year in england) you lose all connection and TV.

That reminds me, my new ISP sent me a 'free modem router' (even though I have a brilliant netgear one) when I signed up to them. No installation fee or anything, which was pretty sweet deal. The router is amazingly fast too, as long as you're plugged into it. Trying to use it wirelessly....well it loses signal beyond ONE FOOT away from the router (I am not even exaggerating). Literally I would start a download next to the router with my laptop and get 400kb/s, then walk to the door and lose all connection. 2 hours on the helpline with them did nothing...(we wanted to use their router so any tech support couldn't bullshit IT MUST BE YOUR ROUTER). In the end I plugged the netgear one back in and it's perfect, as expected.

At least you can haggle free internet and severely discounted phone calls from them.

And if you haven't DO IT! My mate's day works for BT (largest phone provider in the UK, also do internet) because he works for them, and he managed to get their BEST internet package for free.

I'm not that high up, I'm a fucking directory assistant so I have to listen to everyone else complaining about the shit services telstra provides and then help them find the phone number they want...

On the upside there's a bubble tea shop across the road from my work so I'm like yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah bitch

Merely 'working for the company' should be enough to get you a discount. Just argue that since you're already working for them you're not likely to ever switch and shit like that. What have you got to lose by trying it? Hell most ISPs will give you a discount if you just THREATEN to move to another ISP. Threaten to WORK for another one if they don't discount it! (actually that might get you fired! xD)
