Doing complex shit like moving and shooting would be near impossible on a touch screen!

Yeah but even still, they could manage. For example, if they used an overhead style then tapping where you want snake to move wouldn't be too bad, or tapping an enemy to shoot them. For actions like going up against the wall is a mystery though, but still they could have done SOMETHING. Since they are going with the rails style, they could have at the very least used the 3D engine, this looks like video clips slapped on cardboard.

They could've made another Metal Gear game, ah yes those pools of orange sulfuric acid sure do bring back memories.

A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.
