just tried this.  Feels like RE4 with a new setting and characters.  My only gripe is it doesn't pause when you open the inventory like in every previous entry.  That and I was spoiled by RE4's HUGE inventory and I don't like only having 9 slots per person.

The enemy AI doesn't seem any worse than RE4, and the partner AI is nice, but could use some improvement.  One thing I thought was a major plus was that when you pick up ammo or money, it doesn't bring up a menu, which broke flow a lot in RE4.  The other ones not so much, because you weren't likely to pick up anything while fighting anyways.

I'll probably get this when it comes out, mainly since it's like RE4, and i loved RE4, and beat it like 15 times simple because it was fun.

i like how they toned down some things such as you no longer doing triple spin kicks to blow off peoples' heads. that's really about it from what i saw.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

I just tried the demo. Is there anything to this game besides shotgunning africans in broad daylight?

Are there any valid horror elements at all?

African with a Chainsaw, and some guy with a huge axe (reminds me of Pyramid Head...), other than that?  I don't think so.

Well, i just beat both areas. I like a few changes they made from RE4.

1: Less ammo - Could just be the demo saying "Here's two weapons and a reload of ammo, and a slightly difficult area, good luck", but i found it funny that in RE4, about midway through you could ditch your handgun and use the shotgun as your main weapon.

2: differences in "Unique" Monsters - Lets face it, in RE4 the chainsaw guy wasn't scary once you got the shotgun.  Blast him in the face, run.  And while i can't say i found the same enemy in RE5 is any scarier, i found the fight much more enjoyable when I had to run for my life during the fight.  Both because he had more health and because it took an explosion or multiple rifle rounds to stagger him.  I also enjoyed the Pyramid Head wannabe, though it seems they want to rip off Silent Hill more and more (See: RE4 Beta, or RE3.5, whatever you want to call it)

3: Death is forgiving - Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a challenge when i play my games.  However there are multiple times when I played RE4 that I dealt with a really cheap death.  I'm not sure how the dying status works if you don't have an herb, but I like having a bit of forgiveness there.

4: A partner with a gun and a brain - Thank fucking God.  Ashley was the most annoying "partner" in any game i've played.  That and she couldn't defend herself.  Sheva even knows when to switch from her handgun to a heavier weapon.  I don't think I need to say more here.

If they add in a quick weapon switch or something, I will be more than happy.  I don't have good reaction time, especially when I have a chainsaw, or a giant axe following me.

I haven't played it but I heard in a podcast that you can switch weapons with the d-pad?

As maladroithim said, you can quickly change weapon/item by pressing the D-pad.

I'm not sure how the dying status works if you don't have an herb, but I like having a bit of forgiveness there.

The dying-status can be "cured" by simply running to your partner and press B over and over. After that you'll be like in the previous games, wounded but won't bleed to death. The herbs still work as health, not reviving (although they can be used for that too).

It be racist not to kill the same amount of black people as white and since the past games had loads more white folk its time to balance things out.

I played this game and I enjoyed it. It is so fun and the online play is so good and it opens the door to maybe resident evil outbreak 3? The controls are like Resident evil 4' so if you didn't like the controls there you won't like this game. The graphics are topnotch like always. I am so getting this game.

Yeah, this. I played the demo twice with my friend. Yeah, it's a bit clunky (I didn't realize how freaking awesome the aiming was on the Wii RE4), and everything is kind of slow and the same as before, but it looks like fun! And Co-op was a great idea.

Yeah I will be getting this too, but it's kind of dissapointing how after so many years they still give us clunky tank controls, oh well I'll enjoy it especially co-op.

VERY interesting comment by some american capcom guy: You can MOVE and SHOOT with an alternative control.

Some people claim that Capcom said that he was wrong but I haven't seen anything about that yet. What do you think? He clearly says you can move and shoot: http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=l-vEW3Fj7tU&feature=channel_page

I agree that the aiming is great on the Wii, but I hated the rest of the controls.

Previous info was wrong - obviously the marketing guy gets paid for sitting on his ass:

Update: This is why marketing guys shouldn't be breaking down gameplay during interviews.  The marketing representative in this video is clear, but we have direct confirmation from Capcom that the information is inaccurate.  We have the final review build for the game and there is NO option for run 'n gun (moving while shooting), and there isn't going to be, either.  Sorry for the confusion..
