Well, i just beat both areas. I like a few changes they made from RE4.
1: Less ammo - Could just be the demo saying "Here's two weapons and a reload of ammo, and a slightly difficult area, good luck", but i found it funny that in RE4, about midway through you could ditch your handgun and use the shotgun as your main weapon.
2: differences in "Unique" Monsters - Lets face it, in RE4 the chainsaw guy wasn't scary once you got the shotgun. Blast him in the face, run. And while i can't say i found the same enemy in RE5 is any scarier, i found the fight much more enjoyable when I had to run for my life during the fight. Both because he had more health and because it took an explosion or multiple rifle rounds to stagger him. I also enjoyed the Pyramid Head wannabe, though it seems they want to rip off Silent Hill more and more (See: RE4 Beta, or RE3.5, whatever you want to call it)
3: Death is forgiving - Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a challenge when i play my games. However there are multiple times when I played RE4 that I dealt with a really cheap death. I'm not sure how the dying status works if you don't have an herb, but I like having a bit of forgiveness there.
4: A partner with a gun and a brain - Thank fucking God. Ashley was the most annoying "partner" in any game i've played. That and she couldn't defend herself. Sheva even knows when to switch from her handgun to a heavier weapon. I don't think I need to say more here.
If they add in a quick weapon switch or something, I will be more than happy. I don't have good reaction time, especially when I have a chainsaw, or a giant axe following me.
