SHIT
99% of this is outdated. Firstly, the major game patch (that's 1.1 I'm talking about, not 1.01, 1.02 or any of the other 1.0x patches) went off mostly without a hitch, though there have been lots of maintenance downtimes for additional patches. ORVR performance has been improved vastly, to the point that fortress sieges actually work, and the combat system itself, a longtime and very valid complaint, has been almost entirely fixed, with the mysterious "lag" between button presses removed. It's now as responsive and snappy as WoW, though I'm still annoyed that animations often play out despite being out of range of your target, though this may actually be working as intended.
I'm now leveling a Knight of the Blazing Sun, one of the new classes introduced in 1.1, and all three scenarios in t1 and 2 pop with regularity. I still avoid Stonetroll because the people that play are retarded and don't understand how to win it, but it's not longer just a Nordenwatch/Morkaines grindfest through t1 and 2. This is helped by being able to queue for all three in a tier with the single press of a button, so people do that much more often. There's a TON of ORVR now too because they added Influence to RVR on the world, as well as increased drops in keep sieging so there's a lot more reason to form warbands. The RVR Influence rewards are really good and worth working towards.
It's a steadily improving game. It has a ton of room for improvement, true. Combat is too CC heavy I find, and endgame needs work still, but they ARE maintaining a solid playerbase (many med-high pop servers during primetime, some even still have queues) and they aren't botching anything.
