Well I'm fed up of Semper Games stuff now that it's a bit overplayed but I remember it being... sorta fun. But the 2-week gamemaking contest yielded a couple of good games, so I'm going for that.

I wish I could vote for the 2 Week Contest but not only did GMJ have a real impact online (and maybe that's what makes an event, more than if I personally enjoyed it (it got lame fast)) but Sarevok kind of stumbled at the end of the contest; some dude even accused him of not having money because he took like a month writing out three paragraphs per game! I don't know actually lemme rethink this.

the blog ended like three years of mainsite inactivity and kind of brought the site back to life.  plus it's turned out some excellent articles, even if it is not IDEAL GW MAINSITE, so that.

I still have a lot of fun rereading gamemasterjasper stuff so that for me was a highlight of the year. The blog is a close second, though.

yeah fuck it. Sarevok didn't follow through as good as he could, and I don't like what GMJ became eventually. the blog on the other hand ended YEARS of inactivity. even if it was nothing more than "marcus's ball sweat update: moist", this is the most significant thing done this year!

That contest of Sarevok's was a great act of generosity towards this community and it yielded some really good stuff. In my opinion the other options don't even come close.

The whole GMJ thing? Not remotely entertaining.

man thats an exaggeration and you know it. not gonna deny the sarevok contest was good but saying others dont even come close? GW6 being NEAR DONE? GW updating after five years (and this also being part of the reason he even posted the contest)? I don't know what Chipset Challenge is, and lol at GW Meet but this is the Forum Event of the Year, not necessarily STEEL'S FAV EVENT or CRUMPLY'S FAV. GMJ had a ridiculously large impact online which makes it significant and yeah, "comes close". also I didn't like GMJ stuff that much but I have to admit I'm in the minority and it probably is, you know, more than REMOTELY ENTERTAINING.

this isn't as onesided as you're making it seem, especially if your definition of event is different.

i dont think the blog is really an event though. like, everything else on the list is an "event" in the classical sense, whereas the creation of the blog was really a new facet to GW. its a new feature, a new "thing" that was added, not an event per se. right? whatever I voted for it because it was definitely the biggest, most influential change to GW over the last year. The announcement of GW6 doesn't seem like much of an event, either, but even so, I think the blog even helped shape what the new GW6 was going to be, so the creation of the blog wins hands down.
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

creation of GW blog. Now I can finally get all the lists I ever wanted.

I ain't gunna vote for saverok's thing because I didn't win and my game was clearly the best(it gave people major headaches, that's a clear sign)

Stupid question... would the latest chain game be considered an event sinse it involved a fair amount of people and has lasted almost over a year?

Im not arguing but thought id mention it cause I really dont remember any of the events mentioned.

Creation of GWBlog. If the mainsite does come out before the end of the year though, that will be the biggest GW event ever.

Also I should have nominated THE REJECTION OF THE BURGER PIPS

I think if we change "GW6 Announcement" to "GW6 is released" it would get more votes. As it stands...... its all a cosnscpiracy....
