Anyway, that kind of topic always ends badly cause on one side you got people like Doc who will say "Fuck them Jews" and on the other you'll get people saying "Fuck them Arabs".

i have no idea how western opinion has been able to maintain pro-israel at all. like is the american public THIS FUCKING UNAWARE? they're consistently aggressive and self-interested, and not just in regards to the palestinians either. since the national jewish fund declared palestine the jews' promised land in the late 20s (or 30s? im a little rusty) they've had border disputes with many countrys in which they were consistantly and obviously in the wrong. honestly sometimes i think america is only so interested in them because they share the type of backwards, imperialistic foreign policy that we do.

Israel's really weird because it's really like a chess piece of a country, used when it's needed. A good example is the Suez crisis, where Israel went to war in Egypt so Britain could retain a vital shipping lane. Israel and that area has been the cause of so many wars the past thousand years it makes you wish Saladin and Richard followed through with their truce plan

Ya know, it's not pro israel or anything it's more like anti-terrorist.  There are extremist groups on both sides, the problem is that those extremist groups are able to sway the majority of the others into hating eachother.  There's people on both sides that have been affected by bombings etc.  everytime someones relative gets nailed, theres more of a chance their join some extremist groups.  it just keeps perpetuating.  it's that culture of honor they have to maintain.  It just so happens that the Palestinian extremist groups want "death to america" so of course many people are going to take a pro israeli approach.  it's not really ignorance, it's the patriotic terror condition americans have come to know.  you can call that ignorance, but ignorance is a choice, many americans do not have a choice. 

but it does suck to see this keep going on, especially since so many poeple, even over in israel and gaza, want this shit to stop.

This is blatantly unfair. We have this strange thought process to call Hamas and Hizbollah "terrorists" and the Israeli/American militaries as "freedom fighters" etc. The fact of the matter is that this resistance is the only thing the Palestinians can do to actually you know, get FOOD, ELECTRICITY, and BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS. When you have your land your people have lived on for 2,000 years taken away from you, your family forced into walled off ghettos (the irony of this btw is off the charts), your civil rights taken away you ten to be angry and you tend to resist. Saying that "both sides are wrong" is childish and scary. The IDF is essentially enacting its own apartheid and slow acting genocide against a poor disparate population and the country that most of us live in supports this with ridiculous amounts of money.

There is no equilibrium here, the Palestinians are denied human rights and have their land taken away, they are slowly starved to death and fight back and kill a few jews in rocket attacks. In response the IDF carpet bombs gaza and kills over 200 people including children. The IDF are monsters and I literally have no sympathy for them at all. Hamas and Hezbollah should be supported 100% by anyone with a conscience. For once Doktormartini is 100% right.

that doesn't stop it from being completely shocking and disgusting that so many people show such strong support for israel when (if one was to use historical insight into this particular conflict) it is so overwhelmingly obvious that israel is the aggressor!
