I mean how do you even think this, how does this even enter your brain? Who here supports what the American or British Armies are doing?

Me. I support what the coalition did in Iraq, actually. The removal of murderous, country-killing dictators from office should be the number one aim of the United Nations, but since the United Nations never dares to step up to the plate I'm glad we stepped up for them. In fact, I hope we don't stop with Iraq and Afghanistan and I actually hope we invade Zimbabwe next to remove Mugabe. That would make Africa more stable in the same way the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan are going to have a stabilising effect in the Middle-East over the next decade.

And I'm laughing so hard here at the good intelligence bit, they bombed a un aid station in a school the other night killing 40 civilians, great intelligence there!

The accuracy with which Israel does hit the correct targets is astounding, and your one, isolated incident isn't going to change that. Isolated incidents like this cannot stand against all the missile storage and launching facilities that have been hit, all the Hamas-run buildings that have been hit and all the military objectives that have been hit.

It's also already been established that Gaza is one of the most densely packed Urban areas in the world, these people live there, there is no thought process of "hm... let's live close to civilians to shield ourselves heh..." these are where these people live.

So Israel is supposed to ignore the launch sites because they are close to civilians. Bullshit. Hamas should not complain about civilian casualities when it is putting them in danger itself. If it stops firing the rockets, the bombs will stop falling.

It's like you people make the same arguments over and over regardless of how many times they are debunked.

Yup don't you guys know? This is the only time the IDF has shot a fucking missile into a building on faulty intelligence or just because they are sociopathic monsters, yup. This is the only time.

Truth, you do know what the word "your" means right? He presented one incident so I was simply stating that his one example didn't stand up to the news reports showing Israel has been fairly accurate in it's strikes so far. I was not saying that there has only been one example of bad intelligence overall as that would be naive. besides, if I was saying that it was the only case overall then I might've actually used the word overall, I certainly wouldn't have said "your".

To be honest, if you (or he) want to debunk what I've said then present some statistics or evidence. So far, the news reports I have seen have shown that they're being pretty damn accurate. I mean, you don't tend to kill a main opposition leader and most of his family when your intelligence and accuracy are poor. And I'd love to see anyone prove that Hamas doesn't strategically place rocket sites near civilians to try and make Israel look bad. I would so love to see that.

One of the things I am wondering about is why Israel has engaged in such a large-scale bombing campaign; a mere ground "invasion" would result in less civilian casualties and achieve largely the same objectives without marking exactly where to draw a theoretical Palestinian border (I highly doubt they are trying to bomb Jews).

ground invasion on it's own would cause much heavier israeli losses.

Quote from: BBC
At least three Katyusha rockets were fired from southern Lebanon into the northern Israeli area of Nahariya early on Thursday. One of the rockets hit a nursing home where some 25 elderly residents were eating breakfast in a nearby dining hall, the Jerusalem Post reports. At least two people were slightly wounded and a number of others were suffering from shock, Israeli officials said.

Israel immediately responded with five artillery shells into Lebanon, calling it a "pinpoint response at the source of fire". Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora was swift to condemn the attack, and called for the army and UN to investigate. The rocket attacks from Lebanon have raised concerns about a wider war in the region, says the BBC's Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen.
i think the last sentence speaks for itself. I hope this does not escalate into a multi-nation war.

hoooooolyyyyyy shit

25 percent of the people dead are women and children guy. Let's assume for a second that every man that has been killed is a TERRORIST HAMAS KILLER OF CHILDREN or whatever (which is obviously gravely inaccurate), that means that 25 percent of the people killed are innocent civilians who are starving and are trapped there. Now let's look at reality, while it is impossible to truly gauge the loss of civilian life in this conflict because THE HOSPITALS ARE OVERFLOWED WITH THE DEAD AND DYING i'm going to take umbrage with your characterization of even the "military" targets. Just because you're a member of the Hamas party doesn't mean that you are even a military combatant. Police stations have been bombed, apartment blocks, does this mean that all Kadima party members are somehow fair game because of the attacks on Gaza? Hamas is a legitimately democratically elected government that is fighting for its people's very survival against an opressive and genocidal regime.

As I said... there is not reason to continue this discussion because of people like flashstar who want to make things into something dramatic rather than argue intelligently. I suggest this topic be killed... I wish I had the power to do it myself.

my arguments are getting destroyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! close the thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! send help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
