This is extremely funny. I have a 30 GB and it's bricked, but it's extremely funny how everyone on the zune.net forums are yelling at each other over this. Seriously, how exactly could Microsoft let this happen? Did they not beta test or what?

By the way, just take out the battery wait 10 seconds and put it back in.Try setting the time on your computer clock to something random until the issue is resolved.
It's not the death of your zune.

Also, what makes Zunes so shitty? I was considering buying one but everyone seems to advise me to get an ipod instead. Any particular reason?

My parents gave me an ipod touch 8 GB for Christmas, and my sister gave me jack shit despite me getting her something and she spent at least 500$ on her only son....what a crock! Oh well, I guess it's greedy to expect something. Anyhow, Marcus that's a lot of music! I guess the touch is good for me, I only have about 1.3 GB of music.

According to Zune Forums this is just a bug in the clock driver in the 30 GB Zune. It will fix itself on January 1st, 2009. They said a patch isn't needed.

well if at 12:01am it is not fixed, bombs get mailed out  ​, I use my Zune at work. I have it packed with music and movies. I have it on random when I am at work, and Watch movies on my breaks. It the only thing that makes my job bearable, because a rotating schedule sucks ass. And graveyard drags on with out it. 

I spent money on this thing damn it. I like it better then an IPod, It was cheaper, and the Zune screens are bigger (I watch a lot of movies) Oh well when tax season comes I plan to get the 120gb Zune. This way will never need to delete a video again. I also like the Client software a lot better then Itunes...in fact I just plan hate Itunes. damn programs always trying to cutting in front of WMP when I click on an mp3. lol silly itunes, you think your good enough to be my default player, that's just sad...you believe in yourself...silly pathetic Itunes....sigh

i have my music on my phone. it doesn't sound great but i'm of the school that as long as i have the option to listen to it, than i enjoy it. i mostly listen in the car or at my computer anyway, and in my car i use cds. my speakers are blown out in my car, but i still have it and THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.

also my sister just got the 16 gb ipod touch and i called her a stupid-ass consumer whore because she could've spent LESS and gotten 120 gb but she REALLY WANTED THE STUPID GIMMICK.

Just like that iPod Shuffle. I don't not at all see that point of that little dinky thing like the shuffle. But I see a lot of people with them. I would loose that so fucking easy. for craps sake its .55oz for crying out loud. Hell it has a notice saying "Do Not Eat iPod Shuffle".


I saw a $20 512mb USB flash drive that also had a headphone jack and a simple audio controls. and it was a USB FLASH DRIVE!!! Capable of all the normal flash drive functions.  That was cool...and worth it. but the Shuffle
