its boring buuuuut calling it stupid is dumb.  it's pr intricate as a SPORT and there are elements of strategy in racing that make it more than just GOD THIS IS BORING WHY THEY DRIVIN IN CIRCLES???`

nascar is also an endurance sport, like soccer.

fat sweaty people drinking cheap overpriced beer and cheap overpriced hot dogs? OH! I've been to a horse race before which is basically a miniature nascar race as far as spectators go. We were inside with the gamblers but there were families outside that were pretty much exactly the way i mentioned. Also there was a shitty cover band where the singer was about to fall off the stage.

what?  no.  none of which is apparent to a spectator that knows nothing about nascar.  if you know about the race then yeah it makes sense to you.  this is how all sports go.  sure if you dont know dick about football youre just going to watch it and go HEY WHATS GOING ON, but if you do the game makes much more sense!

Uhhhhh probably in any sport the majority of people don't really have a real interest in the sport so much as the event. Baseball season ticket holders are notoriously bad, to the point where sitting in the best seats also means sitting next to someone who isn't even watching. College fans probably don't know their entire starting lineups in basketball, much less so the bench players. College football is all about the traditions and shit. I mention all this because as horrible and dumb as Nascar is, its fans probably aren't all that worst than any other sport. Everyone shows up, drinks if they can, eat, and hope their favorite player/racer/team does well. Crashes are probably just as much a draw as fighting is with hockey. I will say though that I bet Nascar fans don't have all that complex of an appreciation but most fans in all sports don't.

Also there's nothing interesting about a player getting injured in any sport because its just them on the ground and takes away from the game.

What's weird is those that actually do enjoy watching Nascar, as in they can't experience the event while watching it on TV.

Yeah if you couldn't capture when I say "love" I mean will never miss a race on TV barring the death of a loved one and even then they'll have pocket TVs at the funeral
