uggh I miss working on this game. Why did I ditch it? I think I was just busy or something. It will always be ~ in my heart ~

Because you're a knob.

Seriously, I was proper looking forward to this. There was that other game too, with the different clans and stuff (like Angels and Vampires and whatnot). This new idea sounds... perplexingly intriguing, though.

A playable map from my secret project: It's basically a camp assigned to investigate a strange site that just appeared from nowhere.

Why are all the buildings exactly the same?

what is an RTP game without ships that also serve as airships? the answer is bologna because they are excellent. still gotta add the actual balloon part as a picture and some little viking-esque guys to crew it. what has started as a joke game has rapidly become something more serious because if there is something I have grown to love it is the RTP.

corfaisus: because they're standard issue portacabins.

top left building has a little issue though, the nearest oil drum is cut off by that rock. lay the bottom oil drum tile and use an event to lay the rock over the top.

It's an outpost / living quarters made for the exploration & security team assigned to protect the Mountain from further invasions, and to confuse enemies where the leaders & confidential information were hidden.

Note, it's situated in a foot of a mountain. Go north, you'll find yourself in a mountain range, with ancient ruins & few military structures.

Rockman - I'm probably the last person to criticize on perspective because I usually butcher it, but the balloons look like they're above and slightly to the side of the airship. Maybe moving them down a little might make it look better?

And now, something else I've been working on...

Yeah, apparently "Heaven" was built with materials left over from Venezzia...

The Seraphim's three pairs of wings animate independently at different speeds, sometimes it looks exactly like the effect I wanted, sometimes not so much. The scales are used to weigh a person's heart against a feather (cribbed from the Book of the Dead) and the broken blade is the part of Saint Micheal's sword that was recovered by Heaven after the battle against Lucifer.

This game might have a religious reference or two in it...

I'm really digging the airship Rockman. I haven't any problems with the perspective.
Nice use of RTP, friend.

Haha, I don't think that you can compare Dreamer to the game thats always in my heart, if thats what you're attempting to do. The game that is always with me is Neo Lescia, as it was the first game I ever thought of making (At age 6) and it embodies my stance on gamemaking (The mysteries of the world).

That first screen is looking real nice though.
I wish you'd finish Neo Lescia, I like how it's beginning to turn out.

Nice screens everyone, keep em coming!

So many conflicting opinions on what to work on....

Although, I haven't worked on Neo Lescia in months now, so are you getting something confused here? Unless you're talking about something recent that I forget.

I might do it, I really want to, more than anything else, problem is that there was never any support for Neo Lescia really, not as much as Dreamer, and I pretty much despise Dreamer right now.

@Lennon, I still think you should do something with this fresh looking custom style you'd going on.

@Rockman, It's simple, but actually a brilliant idea. I think moving the balloons down so they overlap the ship for a bit might fix the perspective issues. Not sure though, but it could be tried.

yeah I guess I could move them a couple tiles down or something, that might fix the perspective a little. the balloons are actually supposed to be staggered (it is not that obvious from this view but from the rear / front views of other airships it is - giving away too much here) so that might also be what's throwing you off. I was very conscious of how usually rpg airships just look like ships.. in the air.. so I tried to make it look a bit different. it is actually ingenious because it moves on water in the same way as it floats / is propelled in the air, it's like a seaplane but with balloons.

edit: waaait the far edge of the ship is too high and making it look like it's tilted to one side, will fix this when I get home.

norsemen of the sky awaaaaaay

Ignore the slightly hard to read HUD, I'll fix that soon enough.
I finally got wall collision to work (96% 100% glitch free), so now the game can be more than just outer space.  Caves, forests, space stations, whatever.
Also, the Energy Shot weapon.  It does double damage.

You know, it really feels like I've been working on this for a lot longer than one month.  I'm making great time.  If all goes well, I could have a full game this summer.

Edit: whoa, new page.  That's a first, I think.

So... it's like Xenogears? :welp:
considering they're both set in space and have to do with Gnosticism, they have surprisingly little to nothing in common plot-wise, gameplay-wise, or otherwise. But I can't say that for sure as I've only played the first little bit of Xenogears. Though I think I did read a plot analysis or something. And I've played Xenosaga 1 - 3.

Thank you, but I've already decided. Neo Lescia will live on. *sniff*

Speaking of that...

Just trying out the chip for now. I might edit it and play with it a bit later, but this is what the Garoh slums are gonna end up looking like.

I love that RTP airship, Rockman. I love the RTP games with a passion, if only because it gives me that good old "omg RPGMAKER2k was released!!" feeling again.

@Simtor: That's some awesome shit! I have to say though I think that the top part of the table blends in too well with the wooden flooring, same goes for the top parts of the bar.
