Screenshot of the new dungeon, the submerged temple. This dungeon will keep me busy for a while...
That is so beautiful, man. I say this a million times but I like the style of your game and how you actually design things. You focus on making an actual dungeon rather than posting just MAPS. You can tell it's not just a map with pretty effects over it, it has purpose and style. Plus the dungeon looks so much better than Generic Cave #30.

Wow, thanks a lot Neophyte and King of games.
I'm happy to know that people still like my screens and game, even though I started it like a thousand years ago. For me the atmosphere is very important, so before even starting a dungeon, I plan how will it look, and how will it play, it makes ma happy to know that you guys appreciate that :')

I just noticed the screen I posted is also on my sig.  :shady:

Cray that screen is really cool indeed. Looks classical. But I'm not a big fan of the tint. It look like a screen problem. You should try a water overlay... subtler.

I am very interested in knowing where that chipset is from... But, yeah, like other people said, get a new sprite for that van because it is pretty ugly.
FYI it is a theo chipset actually.

For the current fan-game contest; so far only my wife and I know what the fandom (Lost Universe) is though.

The sprites are edits of Jump Ultimate Stars sprites, the one there for Kane Blueriver was originally Hitsuguya Toshiro (the boy captain with the ice-sword from Bleach).

It's all being done in good old, dull, GameMaker. :)

And congrats! You're the FIRST person to know Lost Universe. It got the nickname "Slayers in space" since it had the same makers and a very similar feel to it.

I know about Lost Universe, too :P It's an old anime, but it's still cool even now. I think that was the first one of the Slayers series I actually saw.

Status Screenshot 'cause I can.
Basically a preview of a status screen which will work awith a battle system I will semi code in RMVX. It seems simple, but I have to make it so I can equip weapons / armour from it, plus have some five section bars instead of numbers for the weapon/armour stats. Yup, all weapons / armour have a max of 5 on their statistics, plus any effects they inflict / resist. (Bleed, Burn, etc)

However, this may advance slowly, too much code makes me grouchy, unless it's coding Battleships in VB2k5. Hmm, wonder if I can upload a screenshot without my Computing tutor seeing :shady:

I am SO Excited to post this! I have been working hard for the last few days to get a working ABS! ANd I achieved it not 10 minutes ago! Of course the RPG Maker Collision detection leaves a LOT to be desired, But im pretty proud that I figured this out all by myself! You may have to wait a few minutes to see the vid, I just put it up. ^_^


NOTE: This is the BASIC system. I havent added any eye candy yet. Eventually it will have an XP indicator as well as a few other knickknacks.

I'd have to say this map is coming along fairly well...

The lower layer used in this chip is swamps, grass, thick grass, and dirt.
The upper layer used was for trees, all mountains, rocks, tower ruins, etc.

What it WAS in a 2007 release (genuinely used map)

What it is NOW

Currently at work carving out the inside of the dungeon, trying not to get lazy
like I used to and actually make RTP presentable.

@nackster: make it so you damage it before he contacts you, because that way the AI will damage you everytime he touches you. Also make it so everytime you damage it the AI moves backwards or something.

@bandito: I like the idea of making him move backwards. But I honestly have no idea how to make it so that you can damage him before he touches you. It took me long enough to roll out the bugs on this version.

I wanted to do more with it like make the chopped up dead soldier poses and more bugs but I'm really tired.
