@biohazard: Your chipsets look fantastic, but your character sprite doesnt quite match. You need to make your sprites a little more gritty/realistic to help match your style.

Any more gritty/realistic and he would blend in TOO well. The only thing that sets him apart from the rest of the environment is the white shirt.

I don't think anybody can match the style you have, bi0hazard. Lots of games try to pull off something like that, but they never look as good. Your game is very, very good.

That whale is, dare I say, fucking incredible! I love the fact that it's ''gritty'' and it blends in perfectly with the chipset. Ignore nackster, Altough he has a point, but maybe its cuz his brightness is at 50% I dunno?

Why do the trees and the skyscrapers have the same size? It looks quite weird to me...

I haven't gotten to work on the trees yet (those are from the default chipset, including the mailboxes  :welp: )

I just put them there for fun (and variety) since I only got the buildings so far. To be honest though, although the size is pretty unrealistic, it doesn't look too bad imo (I planned to make custom trees anyway). We'll see if I can make better trees.

Probably when I finished the demo or when I decide to stop making the game (I gave out some old custom resources this way).

well, you do have to bear in mind that the shots are small, stationary and on a white forum background instead of in motion and in full-screen, as it would play.

Looks pretty good, though there is one problem. It's hard to tell if the roof is really a roof or another part of the wall. The reason why is another contrast issue. Contrast between the walls and floor is one thing, but between walls and roof is a whole nother one. Remember that the trick is to make the roofs look flat. Try lightening it up like you did with the floor but not as much as it.

The shadows cast (or is that a dark, flat surface?) by the grey ceiling rims on the bottom half of the screen also throw off the perception.

who doesn't love playing as the villain in a game? in Ghosts of Aliens, all the characters could use an attack or a special set of skills. but, Dreeply(Villain), uses strictly Magles! Dark Pulse is a custom Magle by him, and his fav magle to use which is why it replaces his attack command.

@ Eschatologist - I like that chipset, and I think it was used very well. Nicely done. I especially like the guards, really. When it comes to chips and stuff I don't really care much, as long as it looks nice enough. You've sold me thus far.

@ Trash Head 2 - Oh, hey! Don't say that about rm2k! The Adventures Of Coco Bean? It looks like a brown ghost...or mismangled marshmellow. Mmmmmm...Marshmellows.  :shady:

@ swordofkings128 - Interesting to play the role as the villain in combat, it's a nice little twist that I find is hard to really add this in for a lot of people's games because...who the hell likes the villain enough to play as them? He must be funny if he's kicking ass. (Love the enemy sprites)

Trash Head 2: I like it. Reminds me of Alex Kid in the miracle world.
Eschatologist: I like all of your screens. The last one is the best. They do have weird perspective issues, but I don't really care. At least they keep a very consistent style.

This example's made in Paint, haven't made anything into Game Maker yet, but I just wanted to show you guys how it would look like. :welp:
