Is there a reason for that size?
Questions like this are dumb, especially when a map is that well designed. Look at it. It has multiple entrances and exits and multiple ways to get to them. Asking why a map designed like this is large is like asking why a Sonic map is large. It's large because there are places to go. Also I think it's pretty funny that the maps that RPG Maker people say are good are generally visually impressive but very small and totally linear. Linear doesn't even necessarily mean one way to get to the objective, but that there's only one way to go at all. This is really a good map!!! Dudes are right though and it's boring looking, so be sure to populate it and maybe add some color.

Allen Hunter: A lot of your single tile ramps look like the are going straight up the cliff at like a 90 degree angle. I think if you extended them a couple tiles above and below the cliff it would look more slanted and less like a wall.

You could put the charsets somewhere where they fit and you can use the move charset event to move them to where you want to on map load.

I don't think it's really necessary though. It looks good.

Yeah, I know that trick. :3
Actually I've been thinking of a easier one that is making the charset of the plant already below a water tile(I mean, the water already included on the charset). Anyway, I just wanna take the mushrooms out of the water.

I'm working on that atm.

@Mince Wobley: The side effects just sound bad IMO. They're way too loud and don't really fit in. They sound like they've been ripped from Spelunky to me. Also, shouldn't there be an explosion sound effect? I didn't like the music unfortunately... :(   I did LOVE the music from the previous video you showed though!

@Allen Hunter:
Although I like such epic maps, I have to agree that it needs some more color.
Maybe try to make some of the "floors" a darker brown? And some plants, not too much, but place some eye catchers.
With all the entrances and paths this should be some interesting area to explore. Keep the good work.

Here are 2 screens of my current work, the game's called Nebulus.

Is this game a platformer or a scrolling shooter? It looks really good!

It's a horizontal shooter in underwater setting.

Very, very, very nice. Only comment I have to say is, I personally know how hard it is to work with that chipset, and especially after you see Meiscool's work with it, you will be blown away. I am not joking. But props for being able to pull out a beautiful screnshot. Only other thing is, add a pretty overlay, change the lighting a little you know. Or add some birds, something which will make the map seem a lot more vibrant.

Messed around with RMVX's default stat behaviour; equipment uses separate stats, the three hidden rates (hit, evasion, critical) are now visible and increase each level (if a bit linearly), and added four new stats that work to boost the main stats similar to Shin Megami Tensei. (At least the first two, not sure about the others.)

That was easy. God only knows how I'm going to get an Individual Turns Battle System to work. D:

Malbor - Simply stunning, you did a good job on your mapping, and I love the underwater overlay too! Keep it up! ^^

Jaabi - Almost reminds me of the font I'm using for one of my games. Anyways nothing to really say because it's just a menu, but I'm interested in this battle system whenever you do have it up and working a bit.

Good job guys. Unfortunately...with the new rules, I have nothing to show you guys anymore. X_x

What are these 'rules'? I didn't quite follow the first post, and seeing as I haven't seen many gut wrenching posts, I'm not sure if "making Craze throw up" is a real task for this topic or not.

Unless you're talking about different rules.

EDIT: Prettified version of my above screen. Character art is a placeholder. (And the item names too obviously.)
