Meadzy: The former. I never much cared for placeholder backgrounds that take up a large chunk of the screen border.

looks exactly the same!

not really the whole issue anyway, the issue is more with a not-particularly-legible type at a low resolution

iirc can't be done natively! maybe someone more knowledgable about these things can tell you how to hex it out
