Yeah, I know the mistakes and stuff. I need a sky pan for the world map, and credit fixings and other stuff here and there... and credits. I already fixed them all. But I'm not going to reupload it. The piano piece that is playing is the piano version of the opening theme. It's going to be rearranged to fit the opening a little bit better later on. Still a lot to do in this little opening.

Winner of the Project of the Month for July is Final Fantasy Essence, a project that is being worked very well for a great team.

Congratulations Celes, Matty, Sinmora, Solid278, Lex, Mark, Ryan, and especially Atoa for the excellent work!

It's well done, I'll give you that. But please change the thing that says Square. Make it something like "Based on the Video Game Series Developed By Square" BECAUSE otherwise it seems as if Square actually made it. I know this may sound silly, but if Square sees something like that they could easily bring you down because it's portrayed that way.

It's suppose to in the "Special thanks to" thing. Which is why I didn't add it to the beginning. But I'll do something about it.

I agree with Dr. Ears, at least remove the actual logo. Just writing "thank you Square" would suffice.

I'm sure Square have operatives who regularly check amateur game maker games for any infringements.

After all 'Final Fantasy Essence' could potentially make their franchise look bad.

Hurry lil_Vivi, before they come for you!

I can be sure of that. Just Google Chrono Trigger Crimson Echoes, and you'll find out about a Rom hack for Chrono Trigger which was 98% completed before getting hit with a C&D letter. It was supposed to be an interquel between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, and a select team of people had spent years working on it.

The same thing happened years back with the 3D Chrono Trigger remake, Chrono Resurrection. Strangely, these things don't seem to happen too often for Final Fantasy fangames. You'd think that they would care more about their primary milk cow, rather then an old forgotten franchise such as Chrono.

There. Some touched up dialog and touched up scenes. Oh and something at the end that is only half new =D

That's pretty nice, lil Vivi. I especially like the music that's playing during. Is it an amalgamation of some FF tunes or an original piece (I'm sure I've heard parts of it before. XP )
Something seems wrong with this map. Any ideas? And which flower tile works best? The red and white? The blue and pink? Or the every-damn-colour-of-the-rainbow-and-then-some one?

I think what's messing that map up is the color of those brown trees against the dirt road. They're too similar so they blend in.

You've nailed it on the head! Thank you very much, KoS. Let's try that again, then, shall we.

There, much better, I think.

So I was working on a map for the next town in my game, Meaphrule, for three hours straight yesterday (started around 12pm, finished around 3pm). After that work, I realized that it was a strange mixture of too big to fill in, but too small to add to, so I was forced to scrap it. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed. I started working on ANOTHER map for Meaphrule late last night, finished less than an hour ago, and I think I've got what I wanted. This lives up more to the original idea of Meaphrule than the old version from 2007-08, which was supposed to be a village on the side of a cliff, surrounded by forests, with docks along the shore at the bottom of the cliffs. Without editing the chipset back then, I was forced to give up on that idea and instead make it a flat town surrounded by forests with a dock at the southwestern corner.

I tried to plan this place out, I really did, but after the first plan failed, I just decided to throw up my hands and say "**** it..." and just let my imagination run wild. This is the result, and to be honest, I'm feeling good about it.

You'll notice how there appears to be trees, cliffs, barrels, and crates on top of the houses. This is due to the fact that I've set it up to where you can walk underneath the roofs of the houses, so those are all behind the house, while stuff like crates are used to keep me from having to add more events than necessary.

And just to show what all that time was wasted on...

You can tell where I gave up on the first attempt, as the grass is still default and the field is barren. I was thinking about putting in a sort of tower off on the far western cliff, but that didn't exactly work.

Man, some of your houses are pretty sweet. I remember how I always had trouble making alot of different houses using RTP, but you have some nice buildings.

1st topic post of month

Logic errors caused by delays are really easy to overlook - and are really funny when they turn up.

And I got an FPS that I actually laid out a GDD for over the last four months and that I should have finished five months ago
Textured and UV'd the player's character, but that's on my faster PC that can actually handle development.

not like anyone gives a shit, tho. nice to have this here in case of legal

How close are you to finishing your FPS? Every time I see it I've wanted to play it. What are you using to make it?
