yeah, I'm finally starting to learn a bit about 3D programming with XNA. so far I managed to get a basic camera and terrain system working. There's even proper collision detection with the terrain. The player isn't animated yet, I'm currently trying to figure out how to animate a model.

A multiplayer game I and five others are working on. We are planning to release it on indie market place at the end of the summer.

Do you have some sort of homepage or DevLog for this project? Look's promising.
Opened a gamepage for it now:

A little experiment with elevation. Also, that's one sturdy piece of lumber to not require any lower support.

@Corfaisus: Maybe some lower support on the bridge could actually help it look a little better perspective wise? I know it exists in the same dimensional plane as the ground, but right now it feels kinda weird with the water. Also it might look cool with darker water tiles below the bridge to make it look like it's casting a shadow near the lower edge?

Renegade: I was thinking today how it seems like most rpg maker games sort of throw you from area to area like maybe you stowaway on a ship and end up somewhere new, but it's like the entire world is unknown and new areas only get mentioned moments before arriving there or something like that I guess. Or there's no other purpose to go someplace new other than you're chasing the bad guys there. I like how you seem to know what all the locations on your world map will be even if they're not really fleshed out yet, you should include that map with the game as a throwback to when we were growing up and you'd get a map in Nintendo Power and you would read all these exotic names of places and I dunno real games would get you PUMPED to explore them in such a way newer games seem to withhold this information like it's big spoiler just knowing the name of a town. Or maybe I just haven't bought a magazine/read the instruction booklet in 20 years. But like Final Fantasy 8 I had no idea what the game world consisted of until you actually go there

Warning: 8-bit graphics and rm2k engine.

If anybody expresses the least bit of interest in this project, I may start a "work in progress" topic for it, but it's probably months away from a demo.

Is that rain? Looks really weird in comparison to everything else around, and that tree is really bright compared to the others. Characters are also out of place, perhaps darkening them up would make them blend better, or a subtle screen tint.

Thanks, I'm still figuring stuff out but sound advice. I might just go for the default rain.

@Clucky: Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll adjust the cutscene bar so its a bit transparent and similar to the other. Also I wanna have a day and night cycle with rain based on day and season so it would fluctuate around.

Looks pretty good, but yeah the rain is kinda weird and it seems a bit light for it to be raining, unless it's a sunshower. Also, a minor critique, it seems like the dialogue "Halt! Who goes there?" would make more sense, as interjections are usually separated from the sentence.

Also I personally prefer the cutscene bars (forgot what they're called...) in the original.
