Do you guys realize that a lot of good can come out of this game? Sure, there is that large group of idiots who only add the Guitar Hero/Rock Band songs to their iPods and live their life completely ignorant to the rest of the band's catalog, but that isn't the entire population of people playing this game. Those people are idiots. Ridicule them, not the game. People like me and many others that I know have actually had their entire musical tastes changed by this game. I found bands like Iron Maiden, The Sword, and Metallica because of playing it.
Because of that, I got really into the bands (hell, I saw Maiden twice this year) and then found other similar bands. Because of The Sword, I am now a huge doom metal fan (Electric Wizard, YOB, Sleep, etc.), because of Iron Maiden, I love N.W.O.B.H.M. (Judas Priest, Venom, Saxon, etc.), and because of Metallica, I love thrash (Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, etc.). There are many idiots, but there are also many people who use this game for good.
