it's an ugly movie! and aside from that it's pretty dumb. i have a feeling lynch films don't mean anything, they're more about creating an atmosphere or invoking emotion or whatever and so they have these stupid plots and fun little dream sequences.

oh hey know what this part? this part is weird because it's a dream. remember how this was cool when you saw it in rugrats? yeah me too!

I can see what you're saying if you've seen Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive, but I think Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man were pretty straightforward for Lynch movies. Wild at Heart was weird but it was coherent. However, Mulholland Drive, I think, has a meaning. You just have to look at it hard to figure out. But I can see what you mean. I haven't seen Lost Highway or Inland Empire or the others. I'm not a terribly big Lynch fan, though. I only really like Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man.

I don't really understand when you say Eastern Promises is "ugly".

did you think eastern promises was a lynch film climbtree. and "meaning" lol, philistine :fogetnah:

I agree with what I think roman said about promises, most of it's p good but then at the end it's dumb.

it's odd how you group all those action movies together!  i haven't seen any but total recall in years, but they vary in quality even between themselves.  robocop seems really dumb in retrospect but i feel like alien might've actually been a pretty good movie.  total recall is cool because i feel like it is tongue in cheek like a lot of dick's other works, so i don't really look at it the same way i look at other cheeseball action movies.
you just did it again!! robocop was v tounne-in-cheek. you don't have to give an opinion on everything

My top ten is filled with more traditional Hollywood, the kind everyone hates  .
There’s nothing foreign apart from BR so im sure they wont be considered to be all that much cultured either. The types of movies that are filled with only CGI, massive explosions and poor acting but I love em anyway.

Battle Royale - the first and best Asian movie I’ve seen.
Starship Troopers - fell in love with the CGI and Denise Richards when I saw this.
The last Samurai - the story not the acting, it also had some beautiful settings.
Kingdom of Heaven - not a traditional choice for a top movie but it did impress me.
Psycho - best movie for suspense and the only black and white movie I bother watching.
American History X - deals with racial issues well, Edward Norton plays his role great.
Forrest Gump - an epic story
Saving Private Ryan - my favourite modern war movie.
The Goonies - best children’s adventure movie but still a fun watch for all ages.
Terminator 2 - a movie I can keep watching and not get bored.

Starship Troopers just slipped in otherwise I would have had Back to the Future there...  if I had to guess which movie people will have the most problem with I would probably say The Last Samurai, let the hating begin..

Eastern Promises was a pretty cool movie, but I think I preferred a history of violence.

Whoa whoa whoa Back to the Future >>> Starship Troopers.
i LIKE starship troopers, but back to the future is a pretty damn fine film and thus shits all over starship troopers.

i decided not to talk about your list for OBV reasons.

this is more or less right depending on which movie you're thinking about (eastern promises is a david cronenberg movie and doesn't have any dream sequences) so it kind of comes down to how much you consider ATMOSPHERE important to your movie watching pleasure but if you're talking about Mulholland Dr. you are 100% wrong

although I'm betting you're talking about eraserhead because they both begin with 'e' and I can see why you would call it ugly because it has this DECAYING BEAUTY aesthetic to it (ewwww gross)

also it is a surrealist film, do you look at surrealist paintings and think NOPE DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING THIS IS SHIT? if you do you are a lame-o bud

I think he probably meant Eraserhead. I wouldn't really understand how Eastern Promises is UGLY unless he meant... the fight scene

dude lennon i cant tell if you are joking but that is one of the worst lists ever

also psyburn im not sure but i dont think i see any Rodriguez or Tarintino, good job man!

Well really the only movie I wasn't sure about was Step Brothers, because you have to like that kind of humor.

Besides that I like never watch movies and I haven't really seen a lot of the ones people consider to be incredibly good.

But yeah I figured I'd get criticism over my list because most of them are newer movies which people really seem to dislike.

Also I forgot Some stuff let me do that again.
1. 2010 The Year We make Contact
2. 2001 A Space Odyssey
3. Forrest Gump
4. Star Wars IV
5. Star Wars VI
6. Star Wars V
7. Planet Of The Dinosaurs
8. Eagle Eye
9. 300
10. Vantage Point
