I just recently got Gmod and I would really like to know how to put mods in it. Like for example weapon packs, i find downloads for mods here: http://garrysmod.org/downloads/ I really need to know how to put these mods in there.

Gmod is the ultimate lunch time waster ever. If you own or have other Valve Source games (like CS), then you get everything from that as well.

A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

Most mods are in addon format, so you dump them in the addon folder found at Steam/steamapps/USERNAME/Garrysmod/Garrysmod/Addons

The way to check they are in addon format is by looking in the folder that you unzip. If it has a file called Info.txt, it is in addon format. Most good addons are. By the way, i suggest PHX3, as it is a great model pack and is needed for most servers.

I have the steam free version and while it has all the files for CS, Day of Defeat, ect, the objects from said games don't appear in the game o.o

Do you mean the old GMOD 9, or you pirated GMOD commercial? If you pirated it, well... pirated copies very rarely work properly. And if you use Gmod 9, there arent any mods for it.

The community forum for G-Mod is in the link I gave you, check out there for stuff like this. I don't think you can put anything into the game itself beyond what is already in the game, or you don't know the commands yet.
