IT TRULY IS AMAZING.

On a seperate note, I'm not sure how many people have seen Brasseye, but THIS is what makes my life worth living. I love it.

To sum up this topic:
Peep Show is the greatest. Brasseye is the greatest. Spaced (and Simon Pegg/Nick Frost) is the greatest. Peter Serafinowicz is the greatest. The Day Today is the greatest. HOORAY FOR THE COMEDY OF MY NATION.

I think black books and father ted are awful though  (except I have a fan who is exactly like Dylan Moran only welsh)

Haha, I'd forgotten about Look Around You. It's fantastic! And Peep Show is just the greatest, agreed.

I.T. Crowd anyone? It'll remind you a lot of Black Books (unsociable irish guy, generally 'straight man' woman, 'freak'... though Moss and Manny aren't really comparable), and maybe Father Ted as it was also written by Graham Linehan. It has a laughter track and isn't too subtle and obviously isn't all about geek stuff or else it wouldn't be as successful, but it's still very, very funny stuff at times. Also it has Chris Morris in Series 1, Brasseye fans.

man I did not laugh at either of these to the degree you guys are talking about. the second also seemed way funnier than the first but that's probably because it was more Tim and Eric than the first.
well... you like 30 rock

seriously tho I'm with pidge and I don't really like 30 rock. I know I said I did but that one was a lie too, I think it's OK. definitely not the funniest show on tv

I've only watched the ones ASE posted so far. they were ok, I laughed at some parts like n^2 + 9 + 9 and april of september or whatever it was. it's kinda funny, I get the parody and the absurdism but my sides aint split!! I think I laughed more at this is my milwaukee and that wasn't the funniest thing ever

nonono,  I provided redundancy.
Also a +1 in the counter of people that don't find 30 rock remotely funny and cannot comprehend how somebody with such a knack at criticizing like you likes that stuff.

anyway, back on topic, I love Peter Serafinowicz. I love the one Gazzwa posted with Paul's Xmas song. Unbelievable.

thanks for posting this, ase!

i wasn't hysterically laughing or anything, but definitely grinning through the entire episode with the odd giggle here and there.

also- i think it's a lot funnier if you watched shows like this as a kid. each othe the math questions where you're supposed to work along with the video are great.

i think me and my friends find this a lot funnier than most people because we're SCIENCE NERDS and all of the experiments and the little fake facts they throw at you are just so ridiculous we can't help but laugh.

also imo earl chip pointed out the not-that-funny jokes/quotes. "Water" is a lot better than "maths," I think, especially the dumb queen elizabeth stuff. I don't think every second of these clips are hilarious, but there are many scenes that are really really good!. The water and egg experiment in "Water" is definitely the best part of that episode. In "germs", the experiment where they grow stuff in a petri dish is awesome.

If you don't like this one, then :(((

edit: btw, I just noticed there's a lot of visual stuff that is hard to see in the youtube. Download the dvd rips of the episodes if you can.

I dunno now I forgot how many times I laughed at timw but I think this sort of thing is a lot more successful if you can sorta get on a roll and just have the layers of absurdity pile up until you get the CAN'T STOP LAUGHING effect ase described, it makes a good parody!! but this doesnt work when there's a stinker every few jokes. and someone, I think dom the dummy said it's good how they make a joke and move on like nothinging happened, but tbh I found it a little slow at parts like they're trying to make sure you get it. or maybe they're just trying to match the pacing of a real educational video idk.

i'll watch it ase, but I'm not making any promises.

Maths is the best thing ever. I can't help but analyze and mull over exactly how and why each joke is funny, but it doesn't take away from the humor in the least!

Why can't more nerd humor be this great?
